KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Research & Business Case Development
- Identify new products/molecules for in-licensing as well as in-house developments
- The creation and evaluation of business cases for new product development
- Coordinate new product launches financial modelling:
- Calculate Net Present Values for new products or projects
- Calculate break-even points for projects
- Calculate % gross profit for new products and / or projects
- Financial forecasting
- Attend to any other financial modelling as required by the business unit
- Attend to research and data analysis as required by the business unit for the purpose of new product development and pricing solutions
- Assist the business unit with the offloading of assets no longer of strategic value to the company
- Where required conduct pricing analyses of our brands against other competitors in the market with an eye on funder benchmark requirements and key account requirement
Pipeline & Product Launch Coordination
- Work collaboratively with the Scientific Team to ensure dossiers secured are efficiently secured and filed
- Assist in driving new product launches from registration through to launch, with a focus on cross-collaboration with all teams with the goal of shortening launch timelines, via the Supplier Alignment Meetings
Database Management
Intellectual Property Management
- Manage the new product intellectual property searches with Lupin
- Manage the new product intellectual property with respect to trademark applications and renewals
- Build and maintain an IP database, for patent restrictions, trademarks and other
Business Development Leads
- Build and maintain an effective molecule sourcing directory
- Keep records of all proposals, models and outcomes regarding business development activities
Contracts
- Management of the contract system that includes uploading and renewals of contracts/SLAs
General
- Perform any other duties as requested for the success of Marketing & Business Development
PRE-REQUISITES
- Bachelor’s Degree Finance/Accounting or Sciences focused on Statistics/ Mathematics
- Minimum of 3 years related working experience
- Pharmaceutical experience is advantageous
