ABOUT THE ROLE
We're looking for a Financial Analyst who combines strong financial analysis with hands-on Power BI and automation skills. This is a fully remote position, reporting directly to the VP of Accounting & Finance. You'll build dashboards, models, and reporting that give Finance and business leaders a clear view of performance, and you'll look for ways to automate manual work along the way. This role offers room to grow into AI-assisted analysis and, over time, into a more strategic technical role within Finance.
Location: Fully remote; work from anywhere in the U.S. Candidates based in the Western U.S. will be prioritized.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Reporting & Dashboards
- Build, maintain, and improve Power BI dashboards and reports for budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and management reporting
- Develop and optimize data models using DAX and Power Query/M to support accurate, self-service reporting
- Ensure data accuracy and consistency across financial reports and reconcile to source systems
- Financial Analysis
- Support the monthly and quarterly close cycle with budget vs. actuals, variance commentary, and KPI tracking
- Maintain forecasting and budgeting models, including driver-based assumptions
- Perform ad hoc analysis for finance leadership and business partners, such as revenue, occupancy, and spend analysis
- Prepare clear summaries and presentations of findings for non-finance stakeholders
- Automation & Process Improvement
- Identify manual, repetitive reporting tasks and automate them using Power Automate, SQL, Python, or similar tools
- Explore and pilot AI-assisted tools (such as LLM-based assistants for analysis and commentary) to speed up reporting and analysis, under the guidance of Finance leadership
- Document processes, data definitions, and report logic so work is repeatable and easy to hand off
- Collaboration
- Work with Accounting, operations, and leadership to gather requirements and resolve data issues
- Train stakeholders on how to use dashboards and interpret the numbers
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Analytics, or a related field
- 3 to 5 years of experience in financial analysis, FP&A, or business intelligence
- Strong Power BI skills, including DAX, Power Query, and data modeling
- Advanced Excel skills
- Working knowledge of financial statements, budgeting, and forecasting
- Clear written and verbal communication, with the ability to explain results to non-technical audiences
- Ability to work independently and manage priorities in a remote environment
A plus, but not required:
- Proficiency in SQL for extracting and transforming data
- Experience with Power Automate or other workflow automation tools
- Exposure to Python or R for data analysis
- Familiarity with AI tools, LLM APIs, or prompt engineering, including any personal or professional projects
- Experience with an ERP or planning system (NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, Workday Adaptive, Anaplan)
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
- Base salary: $80,000 to $90,000 per year (salaried), commensurate with experience
- Paid time off (PTO): accrued each pay period and may be used for vacation or sick leave
- Paid holidays: designated company holidays
- Fully remote work arrangement
