Job Summary:
Angel Power & Project Solutions Ltd is seeking a Power Systems Engineering Manager to lead the technical delivery of electrical power projects. You will manage engineers, oversee power-system studies and designs, and ensure projects meet safety, quality, budget, and client requirements.
What you'll do:
- Lead the design, development, and realisation of power systems, including system architecture and detailed schematics using AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
- Conduct root cause analysis on system failures or inefficiencies to inform continuous improvement initiatives.
- Manage projects from conception through to completion, ensuring adherence to deadlines, budgets, and quality standards through effective project management techniques.
- Develop and validate control strategies using programmable logic controllers (PLCs), C++, Python, MATLAB, and other relevant software tools.
- Create detailed system schematics and CAD models to support manufacturing and construction processes.
- Perform systems engineering activities including system design optimisation, data analysis, and integration of mechanical and electrical components.
- Collaborate with construction teams to ensure proper implementation of designs and conduct site inspections as needed.
- Apply GD&T principles to ensure precision in manufacturing processes and component fabrication.
- Provide technical guidance on mechanical knowledge, construction experience, and laboratory testing procedures related to power systems.
- Analyse data to identify trends or issues affecting system performance; recommend corrective actions accordingly.
Requirements:
- Strong experience in power systems, electrical networks, or energy infrastructure.
- Previous experience leading engineers or technical project teams.
- Knowledge of power-system modelling, protection, and electrical design.
- Excellent project management and stakeholder communication skills.
- Degree in electrical engineering or a related discipline.
- Chartered Engineer status or progress towards professional registration is beneficial.
- Ability to perform root cause analysis efficiently to troubleshoot complex issues within electrical or mechanical systems.
- Familiarity with system design methodologies including system architecture development and integration strategies.
- Excellent analytical skills with a solid understanding of mathematics relevant to electrical engineering applications.
- Effective communication skills for liaising with clients, contractors, and internal teams.
Pay: £55,000.00-£75,000.00 per year
