Package:
- Salary £50,000 to £55,000 (Depending on experience)
- 40 hours per week, flexible working arrangement
- 24 days paid holidays, plus your birthday off, plus bank holidays
Responsibilities:
- Managing the team of currently two design engineers, producing and maintaining detailed 3D CAD models and drawings.
- Create manufacturing drawings including tolerances, materials and finishes.
- Review every aspect of the design and drawing process and then optimise, update, streamline and revise the design and drawing process to increase efficiency.
- Introduce and leverage AI tools and software to enhance CAD modelling, automate repetitive tasks, and improve design accuracy and efficiency, leading to the production-scale introduction of CAM.
- Support junior engineers (and future apprentices) with design development and documentation
- Closely liaise with sales and manufacturing to optimise our capabilities and what we can offer our customers.
- Develop new products adjacent to the current portfolio and beyond, considering 3D printing and other manufacturing technologies.
Requirements:
ESSENTIAL
- Master’s degree in mechanical engineering, or a closely related discipline.
- 7 years+ experience as a CAD Designer within a precision engineering or manufacturing environment
- Expert in Autodesk Inventor.
- Leadership experience managing a team of engineers.
- Strong understanding of engineering and manufacturing processes.
DESIRABLE
- Experience or familiarity with using AI-assisted design tools or software.
- Experience with 3D printing, e.g., review existing (metal) products and 3D print them.
