About the role
Bay Twelve is hiring a Product Designer to improve the daily workflows used by service advisors, technicians, and shop owners.
You will design focused parts of an established B2B product, from early problem definition through production-ready interface specifications. This is an individual-contributor role with access to a UX researcher and an existing design system.
What you’ll do
- Design workflows for estimating, scheduling, customer approvals, work orders, and payments.
- Translate product requirements and customer feedback into user flows, wireframes, and polished interfaces.
- Create interactive prototypes for customer interviews and usability sessions.
- Work with product managers and engineers to define scope, edge cases, and implementation details.
- Use the existing design system and contribute new components when needed.
- Review implemented features and document visual or interaction issues before release.
- Participate in design critiques and explain the reasoning behind design decisions.
- Use product analytics, support cases, and research findings to improve released features.
- Maintain organized Figma files and clear handoff documentation.
What we’re looking for
- At least 3 years of product, UX, or interaction design experience.
- A portfolio showing shipped web or mobile product work and the decisions behind it.
- Strong proficiency with Figma, components, auto layout, and interactive prototyping.
- Experience designing multi-step workflows or information-dense business software.
- Understanding of responsive design and accessibility fundamentals.
- Ability to work constructively with product managers, engineers, and researchers.
- Clear written communication in a remote environment.
A specific college degree is not required.
Helpful, but not required:
- Experience with B2B SaaS, field-service, automotive, payments, or scheduling products.
- Familiarity with usability testing and product analytics.
- Basic understanding of HTML and CSS.
- Experience contributing to a shared design system.
Candidates are not expected to conduct every research study, write production code, or create marketing materials for this role.
Work schedule
This is a 40-hour, Monday-through-Friday position with flexible start and finish times.
Team members should generally be available from 12:00–4:00 p.m. Eastern Time for collaborative work. Meetings outside that period are limited, and the design team maintains two meeting-free afternoons each week.
Routine evening and weekend work is not expected. Employees attend two company gatherings per year, with travel and accommodation paid by Bay Twelve.
Compensation and benefits
- Base salary of $112,000–$128,000.
- Annual performance bonus with a target of 7%.
- Stock options with a four-year vesting schedule.
- Medical, dental, and vision insurance.
- 401(k) with a 4% company match.
- 20 days of paid time off.
- 11 company holidays and two floating holidays.
- 12 weeks of paid parental leave.
- Company-paid life and disability insurance.
- Laptop, monitor, and home-office equipment provided.
- $125 monthly internet and remote-work allowance.
- $2,000 annual learning and conference budget.
- Five paid volunteer days per year.
- Four-week paid sabbatical after five years of employment.
Hiring process
- A 30-minute introductory call with the recruiter.
- A portfolio conversation with two product designers.
- A collaborative design discussion using a fictional repair-shop scenario.
- A final interview with product and engineering partners.
Candidates will not be assigned a take-home design project. The collaborative discussion focuses on questions, tradeoffs, and communication rather than producing a finished interface.
Pay: $112,000.00 - $128,000.00 per year
