About (DDIA)
DDIA is responsible for all the Digital requirements of the IIT Kanpur such as planning, purchasing, executing, support-providing and maintaining all the digital assets and services including the cybersecurity, telephone exchange, Internet Services, etc.

Key Responsibilities
The work is related to the development and maintenance of websites, web applications, web services, along with associated databases.
Detailed Responsibilities
- Web Architecture & Full-Stack Development
· Lead the end-to-end development of high-performance websites, portals, and web applications using Drupal, WordPress, and Joomla.
· Design and implement custom modules, plugins, and extensions to meet specific institutional requirements.
· Develop responsive, interactive front-end interfaces using Bootstrap, GSAP, CSS, and JavaScript libraries/frameworks (jQuery, React.js, Node.js).
- Database Management & Optimization
· Oversee the full lifecycle of database operations (SQL, PL/SQL), including installation, configuration, and connectivity with various programming languages.
· Ensure data integrity and availability through rigorous backup, recovery, and data archival protocols.
· Conduct regular performance tuning and optimization of database servers to ensure low-latency application response.
- System & Server Administration
· Manage Linux-based system environments and web server configurations (Apache/Nginx) to ensure high availability and reliable web services.
· Implement and maintain secure authentication protocols, including LDAP and Active Directory (AD) integration.
· Collaborate on Cloud Architecture strategies to enhance the scalability and reliability of hosted web services.
- Technical Integration & Security
· Facilitate seamless payment gateway integrations and third-party API connections.
· Conduct routine security audits and updates to core CMS engines and custom codebases to mitigate vulnerabilities.
· Coordinate with the design team to translate visual assets from Adobe Photoshop/CorelDRAW into functional, optimized web components.
- Leadership & Project Management
· Operate with a high degree of autonomy to make critical technical decisions and solve complex architectural bottlenecks.
· Manage project timelines and deliverables using standard Project Management methodologies.
· Provide leadership and technical mentorship within the web development team to ensure best practices are followed.
Desired Qualifications
a) B.Tech or B.S. with 8 years of relevant experience
OR
b) MTech or MSc in Engineering/ Sciences + 6 years of relevant experience
Mandatory: Database Certification (Oracle, MySQL, or equivalent).
Desired: Relevant certifications in Web Development technologies and Cloud Architecture.
Pay: From ₹60,000.00 per year
