Metrodata Group is seeking an experienced SQL Server Database Administrator (DBA) to manage, maintain, and optimize Microsoft SQL Server environments within enterprise projects. The role involves database administration, performance tuning, troubleshooting, system upgrades, migration activities, and implementation of High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) solutions.
Responsibilities
- Administer, monitor, and maintain Microsoft SQL Server databases to ensure availability, security, and optimal performance.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
- Install, configure, and provision SQL Server instances and databases.
- Conduct database health checks, integrity checks, indexing, statistics maintenance, and capacity monitoring.
- Monitor and optimize database performance, including troubleshooting performance bottlenecks and incidents.
- Manage SQL Server Agent Jobs, alerts, backup, and recovery processes.
- Execute SQL Server upgrades using both in-place upgrade and side-by-side migration methods.
- Perform database migration assessments, compatibility checks, and implementation activities.
- Configure and maintain High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) solutions, including Always On Availability Groups and Windows Server Failover Clustering (WSFC).
- Perform DR testing and recovery validation to meet RPO and RTO requirements.
- Analyze and optimize T-SQL queries, execution plans, and indexing strategies.
- Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and implement preventive actions for recurring issues.
- Collaborate with infrastructure, network, application, and vendor teams to resolve technical issues and improve database services.
