My client based in Cape Town, Bellville is currently looking for a .NET Developer to join their team on a contract basis.
IT / FINANCE
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test and maintain scalable enterprise applications using C#, .NET and related Microsoft technologies.
- Develop responsive and user-friendly front-end applications using [URL Removed] JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML5 and CSS3.
- Build reusable, maintainable and high-performance software components and services.
- Design, develop and maintain RESTful APIs, microservices and system integrations.
- Manage database development, design, optimisation and performance using Microsoft SQL Server.
- Develop, deploy and support cloud-based applications hosted on AWS and/or Azure.
- Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines, automated deployments and DevOps practices.
- Monitor application performance, troubleshoot technical issues and ensure system reliability, security and scalability.
- Participate in architectural reviews, technical planning and solution design discussions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, business stakeholders and other developers to deliver effective digital solutions.
- Mentor junior developers, promote coding standards and encourage best practices in software development.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, technical innovation and the delivery of high-quality software solutions.
Qualifications & Experience
- Relevant degree, diploma or equivalent qualification in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum 5-7 years' experience in software development, with strong expertise in C# and the .NET technology stack.
- Proven experience developing applications using .NET Core/.NET 8, ASP.NET MVC, Web API and Entity Framework.
- Strong experience with [URL Removed] JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML5 and CSS3.
- Experience designing and developing RESTful APIs, microservices and scalable enterprise applications.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server, database design and optimisation.
- Experience working with AWS and/or Microsoft Azure cloud environments.
- Experience with Git, Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment processes.
- Experience with Docker and containerisation; Kubernetes experience would be advantageous.
- Experience working in Agile development environments.
- Previous experience mentoring developers and contributing to technical architecture and solution design will be advantageous.
