Quality Control Engineer

Vestas aircoil UK North

Vestas aircoil is establishing a new manufacturing and aftermarket service operation in the North East of England, creating an exciting opportunity to help shape the future of our business from the ground up.

As part of the wider Vestas aircoil Group, UK North has a clear ambition to become a benchmark operation that combines engineering excellence, operational performance and a culture of continuous improvement. To support this journey, we are looking to recruit a Quality Control and Inspection Engineer who will play a key role in ensuring the quality of our products and supply chain from day one.

Reporting to the QHSE Manager, you will be responsible for inspecting incoming components, monitoring manufacturing quality, verifying pressure testing activities and ensuring finished products meet the highest standards before shipment to customers.

This is a highly practical and hands on role that will suit someone who enjoys being close to the product, working with suppliers and manufacturing teams, and helping to establish quality standards within a growing business.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Conduct visual and dimensional inspections of incoming components and materials.
  • Inspect fabricated, welded and machined components against drawings and specifications.
  • Verify the quality of paint coatings and hot-dip galvanised products.
  • Carry out in-process quality inspections throughout manufacturing and assembly operations.
  • Witness and verify pressure testing activities and associated quality records.
  • Perform final inspection and release activities before customer shipment.
  • Ensure inspection and quality records are maintained accurately and completely.
  • Identify, manage and report non-conforming materials and products.
  • Support investigations, root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Work closely with suppliers, production teams and engineering colleagues to drive quality improvements.
  • Contribute to the development of quality procedures, inspection plans and quality systems as the site continues to grow.

What We're Looking For

  • Experience within a Quality Control, Quality Inspection or Quality Engineering role.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Experience performing dimensional inspections using precision measuring equipment.
  • Knowledge of fabricated, welded and machined components.
  • Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to quality control.
  • Good communication and problem solving skills.
  • A proactive and hands on approach to supporting manufacturing operations.

Desirable Experience

  • Experience within fabrication, heat exchangers, pressure equipment or engineered products manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of weld inspection techniques and welding standards.
  • Exposure to NDT methods such as VT, PT, MPI or UT.
  • Experience witnessing pressure tests.
  • Paint coating or galvanizing inspection experience.
  • Understanding of ISO 9001 quality management systems.
  • CSWIP, PCN or similar inspection qualifications.

Why Join Vestas aircoil UK North?

This is a rare opportunity to join a growing business at an early stage and play a key role in shaping its future success. You'll have the chance to work alongside experienced colleagues from across the Vestas aircoil Group while helping to establish the systems, standards and culture that will support long term growth.

If you're looking for a role where your contribution will have real visibility and impact, we'd love to hear from you.
