Job Description: Senior Quality Engineer – Data & Cloud Testing
Role Overview
We are looking for a Senior Quality Engineer with strong experience in test automation, data quality engineering, ETL testing, and cloud-based data platforms. The ideal candidate will have hands-on expertise in validating large-scale data pipelines and enterprise data systems across Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud Platform (GCP), including Microsoft Fabric, Azure Synapse, and BigQuery.
The role involves developing automated testing frameworks, validating data transformations, performing SQL-based testing, and ensuring the reliability, accuracy, and performance of enterprise data solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and execute test strategies, test plans, test cases, and automated test scripts for enterprise data applications.
- Perform ETL testing, data pipeline testing, data integration testing, and end-to-end data validation.
- Validate data accuracy, completeness, consistency, transformation logic, and integrity across source and target systems.
- Test cloud data platforms, including Microsoft Fabric, Azure Synapse, Azure Data Factory, Google BigQuery, Dataflow, and Dataproc.
- Develop and maintain automated test frameworks using Python, Java, SQL, or similar technologies.
- Perform SQL-based database testing across BigQuery, Azure SQL, and Synapse environments.
- Conduct functional, regression, integration, and performance testing for large-scale data systems.
- Validate data pipelines using services such as Pub/Sub and Cloud Composer (Airflow).
- Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins and Azure DevOps.
- Identify, document, track, and troubleshoot defects, collaborating with development and data engineering teams to ensure timely resolution.
- Ensure compliance with data quality standards, governance requirements, and testing best practices.
- Work closely with developers, data engineers, product managers, and business stakeholders to achieve quality objectives.
- Mentor junior quality engineers and contribute to continuous improvements in testing processes and frameworks.
Mandatory Skills
- 5+ years of experience in Software Quality Engineering, QA Automation, or Test Engineering.
- At least 3 years of experience working with enterprise data systems.
- Strong hands-on experience in ETL testing, data validation, and data pipeline testing.
- Proficiency in SQL for data reconciliation, transformation validation, and database testing.
- Experience with Python or Java for test automation and scripting.
- Experience testing cloud-based data platforms on Azure and/or GCP.
- Understanding of data warehousing, data lakes, data integration, and ETL processes.
- Experience with test automation frameworks and tools such as Selenium, JUnit, TestNG, or equivalent.
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, Git, and Agile development methodologies.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Factory, and Azure Synapse Analytics.
- Hands-on experience with Google BigQuery, Dataflow, Dataproc, Pub/Sub, and Cloud Composer (Airflow).
- Experience with large-scale distributed data systems and cloud-based data pipelines.
- Exposure to API testing and AI/ML data validation.
- Familiarity with Jenkins, Azure DevOps, and automated test execution in CI/CD environments.
- Knowledge of data governance and compliance tools such as Microsoft Purview.
- Certifications such as ISTQB, Azure, or Google Cloud certifications are an added advantage.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.

Pay: ₹229,000.00 - ₹3,000,000.00 per year
