Job Overview
Rate Insurance seeks a highly experienced, deeply technical product executive
to lead and transform our internal and customer-facing platform ecosystem.
This strategic role owns the full breadth of our product vision, including customer-facing digital quoting platforms, complex integrations, enterprise-scale data infrastructure, analytics, Salesforce-driven agent experiences, and AI-powered productivity and automation.
You will lead a lean, high-caliber product team responsible for crafting cohesive and sophisticated platform solutions that streamline every step of the brokerage lifecycle, from initial customer quote to ongoing account servicing and retention. Across these platforms, you will be accountable for developing a tightly integrated ecosystem that seamlessly connects end-customer experiences with internal agent workflows.
As a highly visible leader, you will drive meaningful collaboration with business stakeholders and ensure strategic alignment across enterprise-critical adjacent technologies, notably our telephony platform. This role combines visionary strategic thinking with hands-on execution. You will define detailed product requirements, personally validate APIs and integrations, and shape data flows and reporting frameworks.
This role requires strong mastery of AI and the ability to use it to build AI agents and workflows that expand the capacity of the product team and the broader organization, in alignment with the company’s AI strategy. You will be expected to demonstrate what you have built.
If you thrive in environments where technical complexity meets strategic impact, and you are eager to set the standard for how an independent brokerage can leverage technology for transformational growth, this role is uniquely suited to your expertise.
Key Responsibilities:
Platform Ownership and Strategic Direction
- Set and execute the comprehensive product vision, roadmap, and delivery for digital quoting, enterprise integrations, data infrastructure, and Salesforce.
- Apply AI and automation across the product platform, enhancing agent productivity and client experiences.
- Develop a robust API strategy for integrations across carrier systems, quoting platforms, data providers, and internal services.
- Oversee end-to-end product coverage, from quoting and onboarding to account servicing and retention.
- Partner with Marketing to ensure seamless functionality and integration of email and SMS communication platforms, and to optimize customer journeys and campaigns.
- Ensure cohesion across enterprise technologies, including telephony and customer experience platforms.
Agile Delivery and Execution
- Lead iterative product delivery cycles (MVP, post-MVP, ongoing enhancements) with clearly measurable outcomes.
- Employ structured prioritization frameworks (WSJF, MoSCoW, RICE) to inform roadmap decisions and manage tradeoffs.
- Execute and manage product development through disciplined two-week Agile sprints in close collaboration with engineering.
- Leverage AI agents and workflows across the delivery cycle, compressing the time from concept to well-formed backlog to shipped increment.
Team Leadership and Collaboration
- Coach, mentor, and develop product management talent across integrations, data/reporting, and Salesforce domains.
- Design and deploy purpose-built AI agents and workflows that enhance the productivity of the product team (PRD drafting, ticket decomposition, UI mockups, release notes) and the broader organization, driving adoption so that gains extend well beyond a single individual.
- Cultivate deep trust and credibility with stakeholders across all organizational levels, from front-line staff to executives.
- Translate complex business requirements into actionable, precise technical solutions and roadmaps.
Technical Oversight and Platform Integrity
- Collaborate deeply with engineering leadership across all product areas, ensuring comprehensive and timely roadmap execution.
- Ensure data infrastructure scalability, maintaining robust ETL processes, accurate data models, and intuitive reporting tools.
- Directly engage in API troubleshooting, validation, and technical oversight, employing tools like Postman to ensure reliability.
- Rigorously evaluate and validate AI agent output before it informs decisions, iterating on agent design as model capabilities evolve.
- Continuously monitor performance metrics, user adoption, and business outcomes, iterating rapidly to enhance platform effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ten or more years in product management with at least five years leading teams of technical product managers.
- Extensive knowledge of independent P&C insurance agency operations, covering personal and commercial lines.
- Proven leadership delivering integrated internal platforms within complex, API-driven environments.
- Demonstrated ability to approach product management with a developer mindset, hands-on, practical, and technically fluent.
- Proven, hands-on experience designing and deploying AI agents and agentic workflows that have been adopted in daily use by a team or organization.
- Fluency in SQL, with strong capability to independently query, validate, and analyze extensive insurance-related datasets.
- Deep familiarity with P&C data structures: policies, claims, commissions, and billing.
- Working knowledge of industry-specific data standards and integration methodologies, including IVANS and AL3 formats, is strongly preferred.
- Strong technical acumen, including JSON parsing, workflow debugging, SQL validation, and architectural evaluation.
- Experience with API integrations and enterprise data solutions; experience with Salesforce Financial Services Cloud is strongly preferred.
- Prior experience leveraging AI to improve workflows or enhance customer interactions is strongly preferred.
- Exceptional communicator, able to clearly articulate detailed technical concepts and strategic business objectives.
- Highly self-motivated, accountable, and energized by the pace and expectations of a lean, rapidly growing organization.
