Job Summary
The IT Executive will be responsible for the day-to-day management and support of the school’s IT infrastructure, including computers, laptops, printers, networking equipment, Wi-Fi, CCTV systems, smart classrooms, and other IT peripherals. The role requires strong hands-on troubleshooting skills and the ability to provide timely technical support to teachers, administrative staff, and other users.
Key Responsibilities
Hardware & Technical Support
- Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot desktops, laptops, printers, scanners, projectors, interactive panels/smart boards, and other IT equipment.
- Diagnose and resolve hardware, operating system, software, and peripheral-related issues.
- Perform routine preventive maintenance of IT equipment.
- Coordinate with vendors for repairs, replacements, warranty support, and AMC services.
- Set up IT equipment for new employees, classrooms, laboratories, meetings, and school events.
Networking & Internet
- Maintain and troubleshoot LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, switches, routers, access points, and internet connectivity across the school.
- Troubleshoot network connectivity and performance issues.
- Monitor Wi-Fi coverage and ensure reliable connectivity in classrooms, laboratories, offices, and other required areas.
- Coordinate with internet service providers and network vendors for outages and technical issues.
- Assist in maintaining basic network security and controlled access to school IT resources.
Smart Classrooms & Academic IT Support
- Ensure smart boards/interactive panels, projectors, classroom computers, audio-visual equipment, and internet connectivity are operational.
- Provide technical assistance to teachers during classroom sessions, presentations, examinations, and school events.
- Support computer laboratories and ensure systems are functional and ready for student use.
CCTV & Security Systems
- Monitor the functioning of CCTV cameras, DVR/NVR systems, storage, and related network connectivity.
- Troubleshoot basic CCTV issues and coordinate with vendors for major repairs.
- Ensure CCTV recording and storage systems are functioning as required.
Software & User Support
- Install and configure operating systems, approved software, antivirus, drivers, and updates.
- Provide technical support to teaching and non-teaching staff.
- Assist users with email, printers, network access, shared folders, and other IT-related issues.
- Maintain appropriate user access and passwords in coordination with the IT Head/School Administration.
IT Assets & Documentation
- Maintain an updated inventory of computers, laptops, printers, networking devices, CCTV equipment, and other IT assets.
- Maintain records of asset allocation, repairs, replacements, warranties, AMC details, and licenses.
- Support periodic physical verification of IT assets.
- Maintain basic documentation of network infrastructure, equipment, and configurations.
Data Backup & IT Security
- Support regular backup of critical school data as per established procedures.
- Ensure antivirus, system updates, and basic security measures are maintained across systems.
- Report cybersecurity incidents, suspicious activities, data loss, or system vulnerabilities immediately.
- Follow school policies regarding data privacy, access control, and information security.
Qualification & Experience
- Diploma / Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Computer Applications, Electronics, or a related field.
- 2–5 years of hands-on experience in hardware, networking, and IT support.
- Experience working in a school or educational institution will be preferred.
- Certifications such as CCNA, CompTIA A+, or hardware/networking certifications would be an advantage.
Technical Skills
- Desktop and laptop hardware troubleshooting
- Windows installation, configuration, and troubleshooting
- LAN/WAN and TCP/IP networking
- Routers, switches, Wi-Fi access points, and cabling
- Printers, scanners, projectors, and interactive panels/smart boards
- CCTV, DVR/NVR, and basic surveillance system troubleshooting
- Microsoft Office / Microsoft 365 and email support
- Antivirus, backups, and basic cybersecurity practices
- Basic knowledge of Active Directory, firewalls, and server environments would be an advantage
