Overview:
We are looking for a **Senior Full\-Stack Software Engineer** to help build and scale the **Vendor Marketplace Platform (VMP)** — a multi\-service system that powers vendor onboarding, credentialing, deduplication, bidding, contracts, and payments across RealPage's property\-management ecosystem.
You will work across a distributed architecture of **Laravel (PHP) microservices**, an **Angular** single\-page application, and an **Nginx API gateway**, all deployed on **Docker Swarm** with **Kafka**\-based cross\-service messaging. This is a hands\-on senior role: you'll own features end to end, uphold architectural standards, mentor engineers, and contribute to platform\-wide technical decisions.
Responsibilities: * **7\+ years** of professional software engineering experience building and maintaining production web applications. * **Strong backend expertise in PHP 8\.x and Laravel 10** (or comparable modern PHP framework): service layers, repositories, middleware, queues, events/listeners, migrations. * **Strong frontend expertise in Angular 16** with **TypeScript**, **RxJS**, and reactive/component\-driven architecture. * **State management** experience with **NgRx** (Store, Effects, Entity) or equivalent (Redux, NGXS). * **Relational databases** — solid **PostgreSQL** (or MySQL) skills: schema design, query optimization, transactions, migrations. * **RESTful API design** — experience building well\-structured APIs; familiarity with the **JSON:API specification** is a strong plus. * **Containerization** — hands\-on **Docker** (multi\-stage builds, Docker Compose) for local and deployed environments. * **Version control \& CI/CD** — Git, pull\-request workflows, and pipeline\-based delivery (Azure Pipelines, GitHub Actions, or similar). * **Automated testing** — PHPUnit and Jasmine/Karma (or Jest); a habit of writing unit and integration tests. * **Authentication \& security** — OAuth2 / OpenID Connect, token\-based auth, and secure API practices.
Qualifications: * Design, build, and maintain features **end to end** across the API services, Angular frontend, and supporting infrastructure. * Uphold **architectural invariants**: clean separation of controllers, validators, services, and repositories; consistent JSON:API responses; event\-driven workflows. * Write clean, well\-tested, and maintainable code; participate in **code reviews** and enforce quality gates. * Design and evolve **PostgreSQL schemas** and data\-migration strategies for large datasets. * Build and consume **event\-driven, Kafka\-based** integrations between services. * Troubleshoot and optimize performance across the stack (API latency, query tuning, frontend bundle size). * Collaborate with product, QA, and DevOps to deliver reliably through **CI/CD pipelines**. * **Mentor** mid\-level and junior engineers; contribute to technical standards and design discussions.
