Your Opportunity:
Reporting directly to the Manager, Quality Management, this Consultant position provides leadership, expertise, and strategic support for clinical policy development and related provincial initiatives across Recovery Alberta. Key responsibilities include leading and coordinating policy development and implementation activities, providing subject matter expertise, facilitating stakeholder engagement processes, and supporting organizational change initiatives. Position works in partnership with operational leaders, clinicians, subject matter experts, and system partners to advance policy priorities and ensure alignment with legislative, regulatory, accreditation, and organizational requirements. This role leads, coordinates, and facilitates the development, implementation, and evaluation of clinical policies that support safe, high quality, and evidence-informed care. A significant focus of the role is the advancement of standardized provincial clinical policies that promote consistency in practice, patient safety, quality improvement, and clinical excellence across Recovery Alberts’s programs and services. This position must build and sustain strategic relationships to support policy development, implementation, and continuous improvement activities.

This Consultant position is accountable for the successful delivery, coordination, and outcomes of policy related initiatives and projects. Drawing on expertise in evidence-informed practice, policy development, change management, and stakeholder engagement, the incumbent will advance organizational priorities through the development, implementation, and evaluation of clinical policies, standards, and related improvement initiatives.

Required Qualifications: A Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred) in a Health, Business or Social Science field. Registration with the appropriate regulatory college in health care. A minimum of five years of experience in patient care in a complex health care setting or an organization of significant size. Experience in the field of addiction and mental health and/or Correctional Health Services. Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
Additional Required Qualifications: The incumbent possesses a record of accomplishment in the following areas: Specialized expertise in evidence-informed methodologies, including patient safety, quality improvement, project management and change management. Extensive knowledge of clinical services, groups and professions and the processes that support changing clinical practice/processes. Coordination experience in project planning, execution, reporting, monitoring and evaluation. Experience in problem solving, risk mitigation, concerns and conflict resolution, and influencing and negotiation. Demonstrated ability to engage and foster relationships with internal and external partners. Effective verbal communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability and comfort to lead presentations. Excellent writing skills, with the ability to author formal documents and reports.
