Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Principal Software Engineer – Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (D365 F&O) to lead enterprise-level technical architecture, system modernization, integrations, and engineering governance across the retail ecosystem. The role will drive scalable, secure, and high-performing D365 solutions, with a strong focus on Retail and Commerce integrations, Azure technologies, production stability, and continuous platform improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Technical Architecture: Define and maintain enterprise architecture standards, technical design principles, and best practices for D365 F&O solutions.
- Solution Design & Modernization: Lead architecture design, platform modernization, scalability, and performance optimization initiatives across D365 F&O, Retail, and Commerce.
- Integration & Azure Technologies: Design and oversee integrations using Azure services, APIs, middleware, and enterprise systems, including POS and Commerce platforms.
- Production Support & Governance: Provide technical governance for live D365 environments, lead complex production escalations, conduct root cause analysis (RCA), and drive long-term corrective actions.
- Engineering Excellence: Review technical designs, code quality, deployment practices, and CI/CD pipelines to ensure reliability, maintainability, and adherence to enterprise standards.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Conduct technical workshops and solution reviews, collaborate with business and technology stakeholders, and contribute to technical roadmaps, effort estimations, and delivery planning.
- Technical Leadership & Mentoring: Guide engineering and development teams, establish technical best practices, and mentor engineers to improve technical capabilities and delivery quality.
Required Skills & Experience
- 8+ years of experience in D365 F&O technical architecture, solution engineering, or enterprise application development.
- Strong expertise in D365 F&O architecture, technical design, and enterprise implementations.
- Hands-on knowledge of Azure integrations, APIs, middleware, and distributed system architecture.
- Strong understanding of Retail and Commerce architecture, including POS and Commerce integrations.
- Experience leading enterprise-scale D365 implementations, modernization initiatives, and production support.
- Proficiency in CI/CD pipelines, Azure DevOps, code reviews, and deployment governance.
- Strong troubleshooting, performance optimization, and root cause analysis skills.
- Excellent technical leadership, stakeholder management, communication, and mentoring capabilities.
