We are seeking a Senior Embedded Linux & Edge AI Firmware Developer to lead the next-generation upgrade of our client’s automated visitor management systems. You will drive low-level custom firmware development and integrate real-time facial recognition and Edge AI capabilities into secure, hardware-driven sign-in terminals.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and optimize custom firmware and low-level software for embedded Linux platforms.
- Implement and optimize Edge AI computer vision and facial recognition models on hardware modules for instant visitor identification.
- Collaborate closely with the UK engineering team, traveling to the UK for up to 3 months annually for hands-on product development and training.
- Ensure real-time processing, low latency, and high system reliability across visitor hardware, image processing, and print engine workflows.
Requirements
- Senior-level experience in embedded systems, custom firmware, and embedded Linux environments (e.g., Yocto, Buildroot, or kernel-level development).
- Proven hands-on background with Edge AI, Computer Vision, or Facial Recognition (e.g., OpenCV, TensorFlow Lite, ONNX, or dedicated NPUs).
- Strong capability in C/C++ development for resource-constrained hardware.
- Must be willing and eligible to travel to the UK for up to 3 months per year (all expenses paid).
- Based in the Philippines and open to working a midday shift to overlap with UK hours.
