**Job Description**

**RESEARCH INSTITUTE OF THE MUHC**

The Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (RI\-MUHC) is a world\-renowned biomedical and hospital research centre. Located in Montreal, Quebec, the Institute is the research arm of the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC) affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine at McGill University. The RI\-MUHC is supported in part by the Fonds de recherche du Québec \- Santé (FRQS).

**Position summary**

Department / Research Program: Personalized Transplant Care Research Program, Nephrology, Medicine

We are seeking a highly motivated, organized and detail\-oriented individual to join Dr. Ruth Sapir\-Pichhadze’s, Personalized Transplant Care Research Program. The Research Assistant will report to the Principal Investigator and work closely with a multidisciplinary team of clinicians, data managers, statisticians, collaborators, and research staff across partnering institutions.

Their general mandate is to advance precision medicine approaches by integrating clinical, immunological, and multi\-omics data to better understand variability in outcomes among kidney transplant recipients, particularly in the context of risk for infections, rejection, vaccination response, and immunosuppression.

Primary responsibilities include participation in research protocol development and implementation, REB submissions, study coordination, participant recruitment, data and biospecimen collection, data analysis and visualization, knowledge dissemination, and study related administrative duties.

**General Duties**

Under the direction of the immediate supervisor, the incumbent will:

Participant Recruitment and Study Visits

* Screen participants for study eligibility. * Recruit and consent participants. * Schedule study visits and provide reminders for attendance. * Coordinate participant follow\-up visits. * Support ongoing communication with study participants.

Data Collection and Documentation

* Complete study documentation accurately and contemporaneously. * Enter study data into electronic databases (e.g., REDCap). * Addresss queries in collaboration with other members of the research team and project manager. * Maintain participant files and study binders.

\- Ensure documentation complies with study protocols and where relevant ICH\-GCP, Health Canada\- Div 5, Internation RI\-SOPs.

Biospecimen collection

* Label, and assist in coordinating shipments of biological specimens according to protocol. * Maintain specimen logs and chain of custody.

\- Store samples appropriately (e.g., \-80°C freezers, liquid nitrogen).

* Update study databases with sample information. * Perform inventory reconciliation and quality checks.

Regulatory Support

* Assist with Research Ethics Board (REB) submissions and renewals. * Maintain the Investigator Site File (ISF). * Ensure regulatory documents are current. * Assist research program manager with assigned administrative tasks. * Track protocol amendments and staff training records.

Study Coordination

* Coordinate meetings and activities with investigators, nurses, pharmacists, laboratories, and sponsors. * Schedule study meetings. * Assist with study logistics and supply management. * Maintain study communication logs.

Quality Assurance

* Assist with internal quality control checks. * Review data for completeness and accuracy.

Administrative Responsibilities

* Order and maintain study supplies.

Training and Compliance

* Maintain required certifications (e.g., ICH\-GCP, TCPS2, Health Canada Division 5\). * Complete protocol\-specific training. * Follow institutional SOPs. * Participate in study meetings and ongoing education.

Communications

* Assist with the submission of grant applications. * Prepare graphical abstracts. * Assist in manuscript preparation, submission and other knowledge translation activities.

**Education / Experience**

Education: Master's Degree

Field of Study: Any related field

Work Experience: 0\-6 months

**Required Skills**

* This position requires an advanced knowledge of oral and written French. * An advanced knowledge of oral and written English is required, as the position requires regular and complex contact with patients, researchers or international students who are exclusively proficient in English. The position also requires complex writing or in\-depth analysis of documents in English related to a research project.

* Exhibits good interpersonal skills, * Demonstrates an attitude which communicates support to other departments and colleagues, * Works with general supervision, follows established policies and procedures, * Prioritises work, meets deadlines, * Good organizational and communication skills, * Good judgment is shown in advising the Program Manager and/or delegate of unusual situations or * issues, * Excellent knowledge of computer applications such as Outlook, Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint.

**Additional information**

**Status:** Temporary, full time (35\-hour workweek)

**Pay Scale:** Commensurate with education and experience

**Work Shift:** Monday to Friday 9:00am to 5:00pm
