ROUTE OPERATIONS MANAGER — QUEENS, NY
The Brother Load is hiring an experienced Route Operations Manager to help lead a growing last-mile delivery operation based out of Maspeth, Queens.
This is not a basic dispatcher position.
We’re looking for someone who can take ownership of the daily operation, manage drivers, solve problems in real time, and help us build a strong, dependable team as route volume grows.
THE ROLE
You’ll be on-site at the Maspeth warehouse during the morning load-out, then manage the operation remotely throughout the rest of the day.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing daily warehouse load-out and getting drivers dispatched on time Monitoring active routes and driver performance throughout the day Handling call-outs, delays, route issues, and operational problems as they happen Communicating directly with drivers and keeping the operation moving Completing end-of-day reconciliation, route reporting, and operational updates Interviewing, onboarding, and managing a bench of 1099 delivery drivers Helping build systems and processes as the operation expands
WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR
We want someone with real last-mile, dispatch, fleet, or delivery operations experience.
You should be comfortable managing multiple drivers at once, making decisions without waiting to be told what to do, and staying ahead of problems before they affect the operation.
REQUIREMENTS
- Previous dispatch, fleet, logistics, or last-mile operations experience Experience managing at least 5 drivers or independent contractors Strong communication and problem-solving skills Comfortable working in a fast-moving delivery environment Available 7 days per week during the initial launch period Reliable, organized, and able to work independently Must be able to report to the Maspeth, Queens facility early mornings
COMPENSATION & GROWTH
This position includes a two-tier compensation structure tied to route volume and operational growth.
The right person will have an opportunity to grow beyond managing one location. As The Brother Load expands, this role can develop into responsibility over additional markets, teams, and territories.
