Job Description:
The Meditech Clinical Application Analyst is an integral member of the Regional Digital Health (RDH) Clinical Informatics Applications team. The Clinical Applications Analyst has a synergistic working relationship with areas and partners across the CARE4 hospitals they support, ensuring collaboration and striving to improve workflow with system optimization.
This challenging position seeks an individual who is self-directed, analytical, and organized to fill the role of Clinical Applications Analyst. This role involves working closely with internal programs and departments to determine business needs and the facilitation of effective solutions that are consistent with organizational goals and objectives. The role will support applications development, operations and maintenance of clinical and non-clinical systems as needed.
This position requires direct communication with all the Informatics and Technology Services teams, other support services including the RDH IT Service Desk staff, Local IT services desks, clinical staff, providers, functional experts, leaders, project managers, and other support personnel. As the Clinical Application Analyst, you will be proficient and expert in the modules you manage and support, and understanding of the complex integration between associated modules, associated applications, equipment and workflows. This role provides applications support for RVH and the CARE4 Regional Partner Hospitals (CGMH, GBGH, HHC) during M-F regular hours and off-hours “on-call support” as required. Other key duties and skills required include:
- Analysis of user-departmental workflow processes and ability to translate into systems-based efficiencies through automation.
- Optimize application features and functionality to meet end-user requirements, create innovate solutions to resolve known problems or inefficiencies, and facilitate workflow processes.
- Coordinate training and support departmental trainers for application(s) and provide training as required for Meditech systems.
You must have access to reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license. You may be assigned to an alternate main site temporarily at the discretion of the Regional IT Partnership and therefore willingness and flexibility to support the four hospitals organizational needs.
Education:
- Undergraduate degree or diploma in a clinically related field, health informatics or computer science or equivalent or IT related field and/or three years’ experience in Clinical Informatics and Applications Meditech Support Role
Experience:
- Three-years application development and clinical support experience with hospital information system with an EMR
- Experience developing in MEDITECH Expanse
- Experience and understanding of ITIL, Change Management and Project Management philosophies and methodologies
- Experience working on Meditech system upgrades and informatics and applications projects and implementations
- Experience with Mirth Integration and HL7/ XML
- Using industry programming languages (VB, JavaScript, C#, C++, Objective C) and methodology, develop tools to solve hospital business problems, an asset
- Advanced use of Microsoft office
- Experience with business analysis and requirements documentation is an asset
- Experience with analyzing data to identify trends, gaps and information that can drive positive change
- Strong understanding of privacy legislation and application to systems and technologies in Health Care
- Understanding of a risk matrix and risk mitigation strategies
- Healthcare experience is required
