At this time, SCI is recruiting highly qualified candidates whose background and career goals meet our needs for a Manufacturing Engineer, Product position in Huntsville, AL. In this role, you will independently apply engineering theories and principles to manage moderately complex projects, design repair and service processes, monitor process performance, and support products in a systems and solutions manufacturing environment.
What You'll Do
- Take ownership of engineering and quality processes for specific assigned programs and products.
- Create process assembly documentation and deliver up-to-date, accurate work instructions.
- Maintain Bill of Materials (BOM) accuracy and execute Engineering Change Order (ECO) activities.
- Execute repair and service process design, perform qualifications on new processes, and troubleshoot complex repair performance problems.
- Lead quality circles and monitor/enhance process performance using Lean/Six Sigma methodologies for continuous product improvements.
- Work with engineering design teams to drive DFx (Design for Excellence) feedback and support New Product Introduction (NPI) and time-to-market initiatives.
- Define project requirements, plan, schedule, monitor milestones/costs, and conduct independent research into complex engineering problems to develop new policies, capabilities, and processes.
- Provide technical guidance to less experienced team members.
What You'll Bring
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Science or Engineering.
- Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience as a Process or Product Engineer, preferably in a Systems/Solution Integration environment.
- Experience working with server, storage, and network products.
- Experience with data collection and reporting tools, advanced training or work experience with spreadsheets/data analysis, and high computer competency.
- Solid background in executing best-practice process control and applying lean manufacturing principles.
- Strong program management skills and understanding of operating methodologies in a systems/solution integration environment.
How to Stand Out
- Lean Six Sigma certification and/or formal training.
- Demonstrated work history in the management of electronics manufacturing operations.
- Training or certifications in industry standards such as AS9100, ISO 9001, ISO 13485, ISO 14001, IPC-A-610, ANSI/J-STD-001, or ANSI/ESD S20.20.
