Job Purpose

We are looking for dynamic and detail-oriented professionals to join our Pricing team. The role involves handling freight rate procurement, pricing negotiations, customer quotations, rate management and coordination with shipping lines, airlines, overseas agents and internal teams. Candidates with relevant experience in Ocean Freight, Air Freight, Import, Export or ISO Tank pricing are encouraged to apply. The designation and responsibilities will be aligned with the candidate's experience and expertise.

Key Responsibilities

1. Freight Rate Procurement & Negotiation

• Obtain competitive freight rates from shipping lines, airlines, NVOCCs, overseas agents and other service providers.
• Negotiate freight rates, local charges and other applicable surcharges.
• Coordinate with carriers and vendors for spot rates, contractual rates and special rate requests.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with shipping lines, airlines and overseas agents.

2. Pricing & Quotation Management

• Handle pricing enquiries received from Sales, Key Accounts and Operations teams.
• Prepare and submit competitive quotations to customers within defined timelines.
• Work on Ocean Freight (Import & Export), Air Freight (Import & Export) and ISO Tank pricing, depending on business requirements.
• Ensure accurate costing, rate calculations and appropriate profit margins.
• Follow up on quotations and provide necessary pricing support to the sales team.

3. Rate Management & Database Maintenance

• Maintain and update freight rate sheets, tariffs and pricing databases.
• Track rate validity, amendments, surcharges and market fluctuations.
• Maintain carrier-wise, sector-wise and trade-lane-wise pricing records.
• Ensure timely circulation of updated rates to concerned departments.

4. Coordination & Vendor Management

• Coordinate with internal Sales, Operations and Key Accounts teams for pricing requirements.
• Liaise with shipping lines, airlines, NVOCCs, transporters and overseas agents.
• Follow up for rate confirmations and resolve pricing-related queries.
• Support internal teams in developing competitive solutions for customer requirements.

5. Market Analysis & Commercial Support

• Monitor freight market trends, competitor pricing and trade-lane developments.
• Identify opportunities for cost optimisation and improved procurement.
• Analyse buying and selling rates to support business profitability.
• Ensure pricing approvals are obtained as per company guidelines.

6. Reporting & MIS

• Maintain pricing records, quotation trackers and rate databases.
• Prepare pricing-related reports and MIS as required.
• Track quotation status, rate movements and vendor performance.
• Ensure accuracy and timely submission of pricing information.

Desired Candidate Profile

• Graduate in any discipline; preference for Commerce, Logistics, Supply Chain or related fields.
• Candidates from Executive to Assistant Manager level with relevant experience in Freight Forwarding / Logistics Pricing are welcome.
• Experience in Ocean Freight Import & Export pricing will be an advantage.
• Exposure to Air Freight and ISO Tank pricing will be an added advantage.
• Good understanding of freight rates, shipping lines, airlines, trade lanes and logistics operations.
• Strong negotiation, analytical and coordination skills.
• Good knowledge of MS Excel and pricing-related MIS.
• Ability to manage multiple enquiries and work within deadlines.
