Engagement Lead
You'll own a portfolio of ecommerce clients end to end — not just delivering dashboards, but driving the decisions that move their P&L and taking a direct hand in Saras's AI-native transformation.
About Saras Analytics
Saras Analytics is an AI and data analytics firm built for ecommerce and omnichannel brands. We help fast-growing SMBs and mid-market brands turn disconnected, messy data into decisions — covering ingestion, transformation, and consumption, backed by our own products (Daton and IQ) as the data infrastructure underneath every engagement. Our consulting team is built around forward deployed analysts, data scientists, and subject matter experts who sit close to the client and turn data into strategic guidance CXOs act on.
Why Now
Saras is profitable and bootstrapped — we've grown without outside capital, and we're not dependent on it now. We sit at the intersection of two of the fastest-moving spaces in tech, AI and ecommerce, and we run flat: talent and good ideas move fast here regardless of tenure or title. We're in the middle of rebuilding our own offerings around AI, which means an Engagement Lead joining now gets to shape that shift for clients, not just inherit it.
The Role
You'll own P&L for a portfolio of 3-4 client accounts and up to $0.5M in portfolio revenue, reporting directly to the Consultant leadership. You'll drive the decisions and the growth — pushing data-informed calls inside client organizations, and inside Saras. This is a high-visibility seat. Strong performance here is the fastest path we have into broader organizational leadership. The ladder is explicit: Technical Project Managers grow into this seat, and Engagement Leads grow into Account Managers.
The Bar
Generating outcomes and value for clients is the top priority for this role: every meaningful piece of work your team ships should move a client decision, and every engagement should open the next one. Delivery excellence underneath is assumed — the bar you're measured against is what changed because of what your team built, and what grew because you spotted the next problem first. That proof — quantified, client-acknowledged value — is what feeds our GTM.
What You'll Own
- Drive decisions, not just deliverables. Every meaningful piece of work your team does for an account should lead to a decision — on pricing, retention, marketing, inventory, whatever the client is wrestling with — and get used, not filed. For any account you run, you should be able to say what changed because of what your team built — quantified, and acknowledged by the client.
- Grow the account. Treat every engagement as a starting point, not an endpoint. Spot the client's next real problem, frame why Saras is the right team to solve it, and partner with Sales/Leadership to scope and pitch it. This is a P&L-owning seat — the growth is yours to find.
- Get requirements right the first time. Make sure every meaningful project starts with a real BRD — problem context, what "done" looks like, the open questions, how it'll be validated — instead of the team building against assumptions and reworking scope mid-flight.
- Own adoption, not just delivery. Shipping the dashboard or the analysis is the midpoint, not the finish line. Make sure clients actually understand and use what gets built — demo for "why this matters," follow up after delivery, and clear out whatever friction is stopping adoption.
- Build a team that thinks, not just executes. Coach your consultants on problem framing, insight generation, and storytelling — with specific, skill-based feedback, not vague notes — so the team gets sharper over time, not just busier.
- Earn trust, including in the hard conversations. Be the person the client trusts to be straight with them — managing expectations transparently, handling difficult conversations calmly, and showing up as invested in their outcomes, not just the invoice.
- Protect your team's time for the work that matters. Catch systemic issues — bad data, upstream product gaps — early, and push for root-cause fixes instead of letting your team get stuck patching the same thing every sprint. Their time should go to problem-solving and client conversations, not firefighting.
What Winning Looks Like
First 90 days: you know your portfolio and team deeply, you've pointed to the first client decision your team's work directly shaped, and you've surfaced at least one new problem worth growing an account around.
Steady state: in a strong quarter you can point to 1-2 client decisions your team's work directly shaped, 2-3 new problems you've surfaced as account growth opportunities, a team that's visibly sharper at framing problems than it was last quarter, and at least one case study or testimonial from your accounts feeding GTM — proof that helps attract the next prospect.
