About the Role
We are looking for a Security Engineer with 5+ years of experience to help design, implement, and maintain robust security practices across our applications, infrastructure, and data pipelines.
You will work closely with backend, DevOps, and platform teams to embed security into every stage of development—from design to deployment—ensuring our systems are secure, scalable, and resilient.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement application and infrastructure security strategies
- Perform threat modeling, risk assessments, and security reviews for new and existing systems
- Secure backend systems (APIs, authentication flows, data pipelines)
- Implement and manage authentication & authorization systems (JWT, OAuth2, RBAC)
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing
- Set up and manage security monitoring, logging, and alerting systems
- Work with DevOps to secure CI/CD pipelines and deployment workflows
- Harden infrastructure across Docker containers, Linux systems, and cloud environments
- Identify and remediate security vulnerabilities (OWASP Top 10, misconfigurations, etc.)
- Ensure secure handling of sensitive data, secrets, and encryption mechanisms
- Define and enforce security best practices and policies
- Stay updated with latest security threats, vulnerabilities, and mitigation techniques
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 4+ years of experience in application security, cloud security, or DevSecOps roles
- Strong understanding of web application security (OWASP Top 10)
- Experience securing REST APIs, microservices, and distributed systems
- Hands-on experience with Docker & container security, Linux system hardening, Networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, firewalls, VPNs, DNS, TLS)
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS and/or GCP) and their security best practices
- Knowledge of identity and access management (IAM) and secure authentication mechanisms
- Experience with encryption, key management, and secrets management
- Familiarity with security tools (e.g., SAST, DAST, vulnerability scanners)
- Experience with logging, monitoring, and incident response
- Strong understanding of secure coding practices
- Ability to perform root cause analysis and security incident investigations
Preferred Skills & Experience
- Experience with DevSecOps practices and integrating security into CI/CD
- Familiarity with Kubernetes security
- Experience with open-source security tools (e.g., OWASP ZAP, Trivy, Falco)
- Knowledge of compliance frameworks (ISO 27001, SOC 2, GDPR)
- Experience in AI/ML system security or data pipeline security
- Scripting experience (Python, Bash) for automation
- Exposure to zero-trust architecture
