Senior Cybersecurity Engineer

Overview

As a Senior Cybersecurity Engineer, you’ll strengthen the security of networks, systems, and cloud environments. You’ll turn security analysis into practical safeguards, partner with IT and engineering teams, and help protect the people and services that depend on reliable technology.

Duties

• Design and maintain network security controls across LAN, WAN, VPN, firewalls, Cisco ASA, Cisco ISE, routing protocols, and network protocols.
• Lead vulnerability management, security assessments, threat detection, incident response, log analysis, and incident recovery using SIEM (security information and event management), IDS (intrusion detection systems), EDR (endpoint detection and response), and tools such as Splunk or Nmap.
• Engineer cloud security for AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform, including cloud infrastructure, identity and access management, authentication, encryption, and high availability.
• Apply security engineering practices to operating systems, virtualization, software deployment, and CI/CD (continuous integration and continuous delivery); automate safeguards with Python, PowerShell, Bash, or Ansible.
• Support information security compliance, risk management, and system security plans aligned with NIST standards, ISO 27000/27001/27002, PCI, FedRAMP, or FISMA.

Qualifications

• Experience in cybersecurity, network engineering, IT security monitoring, or security system administration; strong computer networking and IT infrastructure knowledge.
• Practical understanding of security risk assessment, vulnerability assessment, incident management, and system hardening.
• Familiarity with Linux, Windows, UNIX, or macOS; cloud computing, virtualization, and security tools.
• Preferred: experience with PKI (public key infrastructure), LDAP, Active Directory, RBAC (role-based access control), SSO (single sign-on), IPsec, TCP/IP, and network monitoring platforms.
• A degree in computer science or related experience is helpful; knowledge of COBIT, ITIL, or RMF (Risk Management Framework) is a plus.

Pay: $35.00 - $55.00 per hour
