Java Full Stack Developer
EXA Technologies | Charlotte, NC | Hybrid (3 days/week onsite) | W-2 Contract
About the role
EXA Technologies is hiring an experienced Java Full Stack Developer to support a leading financial services client in Charlotte. You’ll build and maintain enterprise web applications end to end, from Spring Boot microservices and APIs to modern front-end interfaces, working closely with product owners, architects, and QA in an Agile team.
What you’ll do
- Design, develop, and maintain full stack applications using Java, Spring Boot, and React or Angular
- Build RESTful APIs and microservices that are secure, scalable, and well-tested
- Develop responsive, user-friendly front-end components and integrate them with backend services
- Write efficient SQL and work with relational and NoSQL databases
- Write unit and integration tests; take part in code reviews and follow engineering best practices
- Work with CI/CD pipelines and support deployments and production issues
- Collaborate with BAs, product owners, and other developers to turn requirements into working features
What you’ll bring
- 7+ years of software development experience
- Strong Java skills (Java 11 or later), including Spring Boot, Spring MVC, and Spring Data/JPA
- Hands-on front-end experience with React or Angular, plus JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML, and CSS
- Experience designing and consuming REST APIs and building microservices
- Solid SQL skills with Oracle, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, or similar
- Experience with Git, Maven or Gradle, Jenkins or similar CI/CD tools, and Agile delivery
- Testing experience with JUnit, Mockito, Jest, or similar
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
Nice to have
- Cloud experience (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Docker, Kubernetes, or OpenShift
- Messaging tools such as Kafka or MQ
- Banking or financial services domain experience
Work arrangement
Hybrid: 3 days a week onsite in Charlotte, NC.
