The Role

The Technical Business Analyst supports the technical design and implementation activities required for Victoria's participation in the national VET Data Streamlining (VDS) Program. The role is responsible for analysing existing systems, data flows, interfaces, business rules and reporting processes to identify the changes needed to meet new national VET data standards and reporting requirements. Main accountabilities:* Innovative thinking and analysis influences developments within area of responsibility

  • Prepares technical reports at an advanced professional level
  • Develops project briefs consistent with business plan direction
  • Contributes to strategic business planning Interprets and applies business plans and policies in own area of responsibility and provides advice to others on implementation issues

The Team

The position of Senior Technical Business Analyst, VET Data Streaming Program forms a part of the Training Operations and Assurance branch within the Skills and TAFE group. Skills and TAFE (ST) focuses on enabling Victorians to access the knowledge, skills and attributes they need to participate in today's workforce, prepare for future jobs, and achieve their educational aspirations. The Training Operations and Assurance (TOA) branch maintain and promote a quality training system through administration of VET Funding Contracts and grants, collaborating with providers so they understand and meet contractual and delivery expectations.About You The successful candidate will ideally have the following skills and experience:* Innovation and Continuous Improvement: Reviews and analyses internal and external information to improve effectiveness and quality of work; Creates team environments where innovation and creativity are fostered and rewarded.

  • Systems Thinking: Diagnoses trends, obstacles and opportunities in the internal and external environment that connect to own work and teams work; Coaches others in using systems thinking to solve problems and create solutions.
  • Data Literacy: Considers data volume, variety, velocity, and veracity to establish data collection (e.g. data parameters, data structure) and analysis (e.g. analysis equations, data visualisation) approach.
