Position Summary
The Registered Nurse (RN) Hospital works collaboratively with both clinical and non-clinical teams, focusing on providing safe and effective care for patients with musculoskeletal conditions.
Location: Geneva, Illinois
Status: Full-Time (40 Hours/Week)
Pay Scale (Minimum to Mid-Point): $34.00 - $42.00 (depending on experience)
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide appropriate care to the patients served.
- Performs technical skills competently and independently to assure patient safety.
- In-depth knowledge of surgical operation procedures.
- Highly skilled at assessing patients prior to surgery and providing them with perioperative care extensive knowledge of aseptic and sterile techniques.
- Ability to collaborate with surgeons and other healthcare professionals.
- Solid understanding of patient health and safety standards Excellent organizational skills
Essential Job Functions
- Performs an initial and ongoing assessment to determine the assigned patient’s ongoing nursing care needs.
- Develops/reviews/revises and individualizes the plan of care to address the patient’s nursing care needs for optimum patient care outcome.
- Implements interventions consistent with the established plan of care in a safe and appropriate manner.
- Evaluates patient care to determine response to care/interventions for optimal patient outcome.
- Maintains a professional behavior in attitudes, demeanor, interactions to achieve organization’s mission.
- Initiates action to correct, prevent, and/or minimize risk(s) to the patient, family or hospital employees (i.e., falls, needle sticks, patient concerns).
- Comply with safety activities, policies and procedures and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in performance improvement activities.
- Attend and participate in department meetings.
- Attend mandatory educational programs.
- Follow established guidelines as stated in hospital and departmental policies and procedures.
- Responsible for all other duties as assigned.
