Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Bookkeeper/Tax Preparer to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of tax regulations and be proficient in various accounting software. This role involves preparing and filing tax returns for individuals and businesses, ensuring compliance with all applicable laws while providing exceptional bookkeeping services to our clients.
Roles and Responsibilities (Including but not limited to)
- Sales and receipts
- Purchases and payments
- Bank Reconciliation
- Payroll & HST Remittances and Reports
- Payable Reconciliation
- Inventory
- Preparation of monthly reports, to the office manager
- Submission of approved reports to clients as required
- Preparation of T1 returns
Qualifications (Including but not limited to)
- Accounting and bookkeeping professional development courses
- Minimum 2 years of bookkeeping/accounting experience
- Knowledge of accepted accounting rules, practices, tax laws, and reporting requirements
- Effective communication skills with individuals at all levels of the organization
- Able to work well under pressure and meet set deadlines
- Good organizational, time management skills
- Working knowledge and proficiency in Sage 50 and QuickBooks Desktop, QuickBooks Online
- Must have an active driving permit, and willing to travel between the Summerside & O'Leary offices
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $18.00-$22.00 per hour

Experience:
- QuickBooks and/or Sage: 1 year (preferred)
- Bookkeeping: 2 years (preferred)
