Job Description
The Environmental Services Tech II performs a variety of cleaning tasks to maintain patient rooms, offices, hallways and other assigned areas of the facility utilizing standard infection control practices and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Performs wet mopping of all patient care areas, damp dusting furniture and fixtures and cleaning of air ducts and vents
- Performs terminal cleaning procedures in operating suites before and after each surgical procedure and at the end of each day
- Cleans and disinfects all fixtures, equipment, floors, doors and walls with clean, lint-free cloth and EPA-registered hospital-grade germicidal agent
- Follows required procedures for handling, cleaning, disposing, or moving of infectious materials in accordance with OSHA Blood-borne Pathogen Standard
- Cleans patient transport vehicles, including non-disposable straps and attachments using cloth moistened with an EPA-registered hospital grade germicidal agent
- Performs daily and as-needed cleaning of surgical support areas, including but not limited to locker rooms, staff lounge, storage areas, preop holding, post anesthesia care, and central sterile processing
- Delivers linens according to pre-established par levels
- Uses, cleans and maintains equipment and tools properly
- Communicates to the OR Director and/or EVS Supervisor all infection control issues
Required Qualifications:
- 1 year Environmental Services
Preferred Qualifications:
- High School Diploma/GED
Compensation is determined based on years of relevant experience and departmental equity.
