Job Description
Shriners Children's has an opportunity for a full-time Patient Care Assistant in our PICU at our Philadelphia hospital. Evening Hours- 3:30pm- 12:00 AM
Key Responsibilities:

Assists in the delivery of patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse
-
Provides direct patient care and performs routine tasks as assigned

Must consistently demonstrate caring and appropriate behavior when interacting with patients and families

Monitors children’s activities and maintains a safe physical and psychosocial environment for children
-
Answers telephones, triages phone calls appropriately
-
Completes purchase orders for PICU and inpatient unit
-
Maintains unit supplies and monitors’ inventory
-
Assists with routine secretarial assistance such as copying, faxing, and typing
-
Assist with patient transport

Schedule appointments with consultants, radiology, and other imaging services

Assists with performance improvement processes and gathering data
Required Qualifications:
-
High School Diploma / GED
-
Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA)
-
Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
Preferred Qualifications:
- One year of pediatric experience
