**Job Title: Yard Operations Manager**
**Location:** Lasham, GU34 5SU
**Job Purpose**
The Yard Manager is responsible for the day\-to\-day operations of the Lasham yard, ensuring equipment is cleaned, maintained, and ready for hire. This includes managing a small team, overseeing health and safety, stock control, and asset upkeep, while ensuring compliance with company processes and delivering high standards of quality and efficiency.
**Key Responsibilities**
**Health \& Safety**
* Maintain a safe working environment by enforcing Site\-Equip’s health and safety procedures. * Conduct weekly yard inspections and resolve any hazards or non\-compliance. * Ensure that all staff use the correct PPE and follow safe working practices.
**Yard Operations**
* Oversee the cleaning, maintenance, and preparation of toilets, welfare units, and other hired equipment. * Oversee the repair, maintenance and refurb of hire equipment * Schedule and prioritise yard tasks to ensure equipment is ready for transport when required. * Manage the efficient loading and unloading of vehicles. * Support the breakdown process by preparing replacement equipment or assisting with urgent tasks when needed.
**Stock \& Asset Management**
* Conduct regular stock checks and maintain accurate inventory records in Syrinx. * Minimise waste and ensure consumables are replenished in line with usage. * Report damaged or redundant assets and support repair or disposal processes. * Ensure equipment maintenance schedules are followed and logged correctly.
**Team Management**
* Lead, support, and develop yard staff to ensure high performance and engagement. * Plan and allocate daily tasks to ensure priorities are clear and standards are met. * Train new starters in yard processes, cleaning standards, and safety expectations. * Conduct regular performance discussions and escalate issues to the Depot Manager when necessary.
**Process Compliance**
* Ensure that all yard activities are accurately recorded in Syrinx and company systems. * Maintain accurate records for stock, maintenance, and equipment readiness to ensure optimal operational readiness. * Identify and implement minor improvements to increase efficiency and organisation in the yard.
**Customer Service Support**
* Ensure equipment leaves the yard in excellent condition and meets quality expectations. * Work closely with the transport and office teams to respond to customer needs and tight turnarounds. * Support service excellence by maintaining a high standard of presentation and cleanliness across all units.
**Skills \& Experience**
**Essential:**
* Experience in a yard, logistics, or operational role. * Strong understanding of health and safety in a practical environment. * Ability to lead, motivate, and manage a small team effectively. * Hands\-on and organised, with good problem\-solving skills. * Comfortable using stock or job management systems (Syrinx experience desirable).
**Desirable:**
* Knowledge of equipment hire or the sanitation industry. * Mechanical or practical maintenance experience. * Forklift experience

**Working Conditions**
* Based on\-site at Lasham yard with hands\-on work in outdoor conditions. * 7am \- 5 pm Monday to Friday \- 45 hour week (1 hour unpaid lunch) * On\-Call Rota * Fire Call Rota
