We’re excited to announce an opportunity for a Mechanical Engineer Intern to support our Operations & Production team. As a Mechanical Engineer Intern, you will play a key role in supporting machinery maintenance, improving equipment performance, troubleshooting mechanical issues, and contributing to engineering projects across our facility.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Demonstrates a willingness to learn, take initiative, and contribute in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organisational skills.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Maintenance Planning: Assist in developing, reviewing, and updating maintenance plans for the RMC department to ensure machinery and equipment are maintained effectively and operate at optimal performance levels.
- Safe Work Procedures (SWPs): Assist in reviewing, updating, and maintaining Safe Work Procedures (SWPs) to ensure maintenance activities comply with company safety standards, operational requirements, and relevant health and safety regulations.
- Root Cause Analysis: Participate in root cause analysis investigations to identify the underlying causes of recurring machine breakdowns, equipment failures, and production interruptions. Assist in recommending corrective and preventative actions to improve equipment reliability.
- Machine Breakdown and Repairs: Support maintenance artisans during machine breakdowns, troubleshooting, fault-finding, and repair activities. Assist with identifying mechanical faults, sourcing technical information, and documenting repairs to minimise equipment downtime.
- Maintenance Shutdown Planning: Assist in planning and coordinating scheduled maintenance shutdowns, including preparing maintenance schedules, identifying required resources and spare parts, and monitoring the completion of maintenance tasks within agreed timeframes.
- Daily Production Reporting: Compile and maintain daily production reports by gathering and analysing production data, including output, machine downtime, breakdowns, and operational performance. Assist in identifying trends and highlighting areas for improvement.
