SPYDER INDUSTRIES AUSTRALIA requires an experienced Software Engineer to plan, build, deploy, and maintain software applications and digital systems used throughout our construction and automotive operations in WA and NSW. The successful applicant will join a supportive, multidisciplinary team on a full-time basis.

Role: Software Engineer Position Type: Full-time Remuneration: A$90,000–A$98,000 plus superannuation Work Arrangement: In-person

Candidates should possess the following qualifications, skills, and experience:

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree or higher in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or another closely related discipline
  • A minimum of two years’ professional experience working as a Software Engineer or Software Developer
  • Sound knowledge of software planning, development, testing, deployment, and ongoing maintenance
  • Competency in relevant programming languages, including Java, C#, Python, JavaScript, or TypeScript
  • Practical experience using both front-end and back-end development frameworks
  • Familiarity with relational and non-relational database technologies
  • Experience developing and working with APIs and integrating external systems
  • An understanding of cloud infrastructure, software deployment, and application-hosting environments
  • Experience working with version-control platforms such as Git
  • Knowledge of Agile practices and the Software Development Life Cycle
  • Strong analytical capabilities with careful attention to detail
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills
  • A demonstrated ability to identify and resolve technical problems
  • Capacity to work autonomously while managing several development priorities
  • Ability to understand business needs and translate them into practical technical solutions
  • Requirements Analysis: Consulting with stakeholders, conducting research, and evaluating software and operational needs
  • Solution Design: Planning application architecture, system workflows, database structures, and integration requirements
  • Code Development: Creating, updating, and maintaining secure, efficient, and well-structured program code
  • Business Application Development: Building applications that support construction projects, automotive activities, scheduling, inventory control, and customer management
  • Fault Diagnosis: Identifying, testing, and resolving software defects, system errors, and performance problems
  • Software Quality Assurance: Performing unit, integration, and system testing to confirm that solutions satisfy technical and operational requirements
  • System Installation: Configuring, installing, and introducing software applications and digital systems into the workplace
  • Platform Integration: Connecting internal software with external platforms, cloud-based services, and other business systems
  • Ongoing Maintenance: Reviewing software performance and updating existing systems in line with changing business requirements
  • User Support: Investigating application issues and providing technical assistance to internal users and relevant stakeholders
  • Technical Documentation: Producing and updating technical specifications, system documentation, operating procedures, and user instructions
  • Information Security: Following secure development practices and safeguarding company, employee, and customer data
  • Continuous Improvement: Assessing current system limitations and proposing improvements to reliability, performance, and scalability
  • Process Automation: Creating software solutions that reduce repetitive administrative and operational work
  • Release Management: Coordinating application releases, software updates, and system deployment activities
  • Regulatory Compliance: Making sure software systems comply with organisational policies, privacy obligations, and applicable information-security standards
  • Keeping source code, technical documentation, and development environments organised and properly maintained
