Incognio develops mission-critical virtualized intercom and audio communication systems purpose-built for secure, IT-centric environments. We are in the process of growing our team and are looking for a motivated intern eager to work in a startup environment.

Job Summary

As a Software Engineer & QA Tester Intern at Incognio, you will contribute directly to the development and quality assurance of our core virtualized communication platform. You will work alongside our operations team, write production-grade code, and design test strategies that ensure our systems meet the high reliability standards our customers expect.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain features across our communication platform in C++, C#, and/or Java
  • Write and execute manual and automated test cases to validate functionality, performance, and regression scenarios
  • Identify, document, and track bugs through the full lifecycle from discovery to resolution
  • Collaborate to review code, share feedback, and improve software quality
  • Participate in architecture discussions and contribute ideas during planning sessions
  • Create and maintain documentation for new and existing features and test procedures
  • Support CI/CD pipeline improvements and contribute to build and release processes

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
  • C++ · C# · Java — experience with at least two is strongly preferred Proficiency in one or more of:
  • Understanding of object-oriented programming principles and software design patterns
  • Familiarity with version control systems (Git)
  • Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail and a passion for quality
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills

Preferred

  • Experience with TypeScript or JavaScript for any front-end or tooling work
  • Exposure to audio/media protocols, VoIP, SIP, or real-time communication systems
  • Familiarity with QA methodologies, test frameworks (e.g., Google Test, JUnit, NUnit), or test automation
  • Knowledge of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, WebRTC, SIP/RTP)
  • Experience with Linux/Unix environments and command-line tooling
