The Law Enforcement Records Bureau gathers, analyzes, and disseminates criminal justice data used by New Mexico law enforcement, criminal justice, corrections, courts, and civil agencies to ensure public safety. The bureau maintains complete and accurate records and responds to the needs of the public, law enforcement and criminal justice agencies providing support and customer engagement through our many applications, programs, and services to achieve the mission objectives.

Interviews are anticipated to be conducted within two weeks of closing date. Why does the job exist?

This position coordinates, manages and monitors New Mexico's Sex Offender Registration (SOR) and Notification Program and website initiatives, at the New Mexico Department of Public Safety's Law Enforcement Records Bureau. This incumbent ensures that law enforcement agencies are compliant with current sex offender registry policies, procedures and statutory guidelines. The incumbent is responsible for the review and consolidation of criminal history records by researching, analyzing, evaluating, and compiling complex data, and will prepare technical reports, audit, test, and validate criminal history data. The incumbent will ensure the data quality that is displayed on the public website and maintained within the Offender Watch (OW) database is complete, accurate and timely. The position will conduct statewide training on Offender Watch and Sex Offender Registry, including policy / procedure requirements, technical information, and state and federal laws and regulations, communicating closely with county / city / state / tribal federal law enforcement, criminal justice and governmental agencies. How does it get done?

* Coordinate, manage and monitor the New Mexico Sex Offender Registration and Notification Program (SORNA). * Conducts training statewide. * Reviews and consolidates criminal history records. * Conduct internal and external audits * Audit the sex offender system database and National Crime Information Center (NCIC) / Sex Offender Registry (SOR).

High School diploma or Equivalency and two (2\) years of experience in office administration, budgeting, purchasing, finance, accounting, auditing, cash management, contract management, and/or the procedures of business and management principles involved in strategic planning. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling two (2\) years may substitute for the required experience. Employment Requirements

Employment is subject to a pre\-employment background investigation and fingerprinting in accordance with all terms and conditions of federal and state law, rules and regulations; and is conditional pending results. Continued employment is contingent upon remaining felony free, per Section 5\.12\.1\.1 of the Criminal Justice Information Systems Security Policy.

In addition, the selected candidate must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and obtain a Defensive Driving Certificate from the State of New Mexico. Working Conditions

Office setting, exposure to Visual Video Display terminal and extensive personal computer and telephone usage with extended periods of sitting. Must be able to lift and carry 30 lbs. Travel required. Supplemental Information
