Steel Products Inc. is seeking a motivated Assistant Project Manager or qualified Project Manager of construction to join our growing team. This position is ideal for an organized, detail-oriented individual looking to build a long-term career in commercial construction focusing on K–12 and public works throughout the DC Metro area. IT professionals need not apply.
Position Overview
The Assistant Project Manager will support Project Managers from beginning to end (including bidding, submittals, field measurements, releasing, punch-list, and closeout.)
Those with experience will be hired on as a Project Manager who will work under our Senior Project Manager to learn our business model and eventually be required to manage your own projects from start to end.
Both of these roles play a key part in ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and in accordance with contract documents and manufacturer requirements.
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.

Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contracts

Ability to visit jobsites and take measurements accurately using a tape measure and laser.

Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational and follow-through skills

Effective time management skills and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks

Comfortable working independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment

Strong verbal and written communication skills with a professional demeanor

Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)

Familiarity with construction and project management software is a plus (Bluebeam, Procore, Viewpoint Spectrum)
