About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Plant HR professional to lead and oversee Human Resources operations at the plant level. The role requires a seasoned HR leader with strong exposure to Industrial Relations (IR), employee engagement, statutory compliance, manpower planning, and HR operations within a manufacturing environment. The incumbent will play a key role in driving workforce productivity, maintaining harmonious employee relations, and supporting business objectives through effective people management.
Key Responsibilities
Plant HR Operations & Workforce Management:
Manage end-to-end HR operations for the plant including onboarding, attendance, leave administration, payroll coordination, and employee lifecycle management. Ensure accurate maintenance of employee records, HRIS systems, and statutory documentation. Drive manpower planning and workforce deployment in alignment with production requirements. Monitor contract labour deployment and ensure compliance with applicable labour laws. Partner with plant leadership to support operational continuity and workforce effectiveness.
Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning:
Execute recruitment strategies for plant manpower requirements across staff and worker categories. Manage end-to-end hiring process including sourcing, interviewing, selection, onboarding, and induction. Build and maintain talent pipelines to support business expansion and attrition replacement. Track recruitment and manpower metrics to improve hiring effectiveness and availability of critical talent.
Industrial Relations (IR) & Compliance:
Maintain healthy industrial relations and support a positive employee climate at the plant. Handle employee grievances and disciplinary matters in line with organizational policies. Ensure compliance with labour laws and statutory regulations including Shops & Establishments, Factory-related compliances, contract labour regulations, and wage-related provisions as applicable. Coordinate with government authorities and support audits, inspections, and statutory submissions. Assist in policy implementation and ensure adherence across the plant workforce.
Employee Engagement & Development:
Drive employee engagement initiatives to improve morale, retention, and productivity. Support learning and development initiatives for employees and supervisors. Facilitate performance management processes and talent development initiatives. Act as a trusted HR partner to plant leadership and employees.
Strategic HR Responsibilities: Analyze workforce trends and HR metrics to support business decisions. Support succession planning and capability-building initiatives. Recommend improvements to HR processes and employee experience. Contribute to building a performance-oriented and compliant work culture.
Key Requirements
Education: MBA in Human Resources / Postgraduate Degree in HR or equivalent. Experience: Minimum 8 years of HR experience with significant exposure to Plant HR / Manufacturing HR environments. Strong understanding of Industrial Relations, labour laws, and statutory compliance. Experience managing blue-collar workforce and contract labour. Proven ability in manpower planning, employee engagement, and HR operations. Strong communication, stakeholder management, and conflict resolution skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and support business growth.
