Key responsibilities include:
- Write & Maintain Code: Assist in writing functional, clean, and readable code across our software applications under the supervision of senior engineers.
- Testing & Debugging: Write unit tests, analyze runtime errors, troubleshoot software defects, and implement effective bug fixes.
- Team Collaboration: Participate in daily stand-up meetings, sprint planning, and estimation discussions to understand project requirements.
- Code Reviews: Actively participate in peer code reviews to receive constructive feedback and implement improvements.
- Documentation: Create and maintain technical documentation for implemented features and internal systems.
- Continuous Learning: Dedicate time to understanding our existing codebase, adopting team coding standards, and learning new technologies.
Skills/Experience required:
- Education/Training: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience (e.g., coding bootcamps, detailed portfolio).
- Core Languages: Foundational knowledge of at least one major language used in our stack, such as WP Engine, React, or HTML/CSS/JavaScript.
- Database Basics: Basic familiarity with databases and writing SQL queries.
- Version Control: Understanding of version control systems, specifically Git and GitHub.
- Problem Solving: Strong analytical thinking and a logical approach to resolving programming bugs.
- Soft Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, an attention to detail, and a collaborative team player mindset.
Pay: $43,000.00 - $73,000.00 per year
