Logistics Manager

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced and responsible Logistics Manager to manage the company's end-to-end logistics and transportation operations. The candidate will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and monitoring the movement of raw materials, finished goods, and project-related equipment across India, ensuring timely delivery, cost efficiency, and proper documentation.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

1. Logistics Planning & Coordination

• Plan and coordinate transportation of materials and finished goods to various project locations across India.
• Arrange suitable transport vehicles based on material quantity, weight, dimensions, and delivery requirements.
• Coordinate with transporters, vendors, suppliers, and project teams.
• Ensure timely dispatch and delivery of materials.

2. Transportation & Fleet Management

• Identify and negotiate with transporters and logistics service providers.
• Monitor transportation costs and optimize freight expenses.
• Track vehicle movement and ensure timely delivery.
• Manage loading, unloading, packing, and material handling activities.
• Coordinate interstate and long-distance transportation.

3. Inventory & Warehouse Coordination

• Coordinate with the stores and purchase departments for material availability.
• Monitor inward and outward material movements.
• Ensure proper packing, storage, and dispatch of materials.
• Verify material quantities before dispatch.
• Maintain records of stock transfers and goods dispatch.

4. Documentation & Compliance

• Prepare and maintain Delivery Challans, E-Way Bills, LR/GR copies, invoices, and other transportation documents.
• Ensure GST and interstate transportation documentation compliance.
• Maintain dispatch registers and Proof of Delivery (POD) records.
• Handle transit insurance and transportation-related claims.

5. Cost Control & Vendor Management

• Negotiate transportation rates and establish cost-effective logistics arrangements.
• Develop and maintain a reliable transporter network across India.
• Verify freight bills and transportation invoices.
• Monitor logistics expenses and prepare cost reports.
• Identify opportunities to reduce transportation costs.

6. Project & Site Coordination

• Coordinate with project execution teams regarding material dispatch schedules.
• Ensure materials reach project sites as per installation timelines.
• Handle transportation delays, shortages, damages, and delivery issues.
• Coordinate reverse logistics for returned or damaged materials.

7. Reporting & MIS

• Prepare daily dispatch and delivery status reports.
• Maintain transporter-wise freight cost records.
• Track pending deliveries and delayed shipments.
• Submit monthly logistics performance and expense reports to management.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 3–7 years of experience in logistics, transportation, and supply chain operations.
• Experience in manufacturing, engineering, solar, or industrial companies will be preferred.

Required Skills

• Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
• Knowledge of transportation and supply chain operations.
• Knowledge of GST, E-Way Bills, and logistics documentation.
• Good communication and coordination skills.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and ERP software.
• Strong planning, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.

• On-time delivery percentage.
• Transportation cost per shipment.
• Reduction in logistics expenses.
• Number of transit damages and material losses.
• Timely completion of dispatches.
• Accuracy of logistics documentation.
• Transporter performance and delivery efficiency.

Preferred Candidate

Candidates with experience handling pan-India transportation, heavy equipment, industrial materials, and project-based logistics operations will be given preference.

Pay: From ₹17,000.00 per month
