As a Junior Category Manager, you'll work alongside experienced Category Managers, learning the craft of category management while taking ownership of your own product areas from day one. This role is ideal for someone with experience in buying, category management, merchandising, planning or a related commercial function who is ready to step up, broaden their capability, and fast-track their career in retail leadership.
What we're looking for
We're looking for someone who may already have the foundations in a commercial or merchandise environment and is eager to take the next step in a large complex retail environment. You'll be someone who:
- Has ambitions to build a long-term career in category management, buying and commercial leadership.
- Brings some experience in buying, merchandise planning, category management, product, retail or a related commercial role.
- Is naturally curious, enjoys solving problems and challenges the status quo.

- Builds strong relationships and communicates confidently with a range of stakeholders.

What you'll be doing
As a Junior Category Manager, you'll partner closely with experienced Category Managers while developing ownership of your own product sub-categories. You'll:
- Develop your commercial capability by helping shape product ranges, pricing strategies and promotional plans that influence customer purchasing decisions.
- Take ownership of product sub-categories, balancing sales, margin, inventory and customer outcomes.
- Turn data into action by analysing customer, sales and market trends to identify opportunities and solve commercial challenges.
- Learn how to build and manage supplier relationships, negotiating outcomes that deliver value for both customers and the business.
- Collaborate with teams across marketing, digital, stores, planning and merchandising to deliver compelling customer experiences both in-store and online.
- Influence business decisions by contributing ideas, identifying opportunities and recommending solutions that improve category performance.
