We’re looking for a hands-on Mechanical Engineer to lead and develop our maintenance team within a busy waste processing plant. This role is key to maximising plant uptime, improving fault diagnosis, and driving a strong maintenance culture.
What you’ll be doing
- Leading, coaching, and upskilling the maintenance team
- Supporting diagnosis and swift resolution of plant faults
- Driving preventative and predictive maintenance strategies
- Improving plant reliability, performance, and uptime
- Working closely with the Shift Manager to implement and monitor daily start-up and shutdown checks
- Identifying and delivering continuous improvement opportunities
What we’re looking for
- Mechanical Engineering qualification (or equivalent experience)
- Strong background in heavy industry (waste, processing, manufacturing, or similar)
- Proven fault-finding and problem-solving experience
- Experience leading or developing maintenance teams
- Proactive, hands-on approach with a focus on results
