About the Role
SwiftPay Services is looking for a motivated Business Development Representative to help grow our merchant base. You will connect with business owners, understand their payment needs, and offer suitable payment processing and POS solutions.
This role suits someone who enjoys meeting people, building relationships, and turning opportunities into long term client partnerships.
Responsibilities
- Identify and approach potential merchants through calls, emails, networking, and business visits.
- Introduce SwiftPay’s payment processing, EFTPOS terminals, and POS solutions.
- Understand each merchant’s business needs and review their current processing arrangements.
- Prepare tailored proposals and clearly explain pricing, equipment, and service features.
- Manage the sales process from initial contact through negotiation, closing, and onboarding.
- Coordinate with onboarding and support teams to help merchants get started smoothly.
- Maintain accurate records of leads, follow ups, and sales activity.
- Build relationships with existing merchants and generate referrals.
- Meet agreed sales targets and contribute ideas to support business growth.
- Stay informed about payment industry developments and competitor offerings.
Requirements
- Experience in sales, business development, or client relationship management.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship building skills.
- Confidence speaking with business owners and explaining payment solutions clearly.
- A proactive, organised approach and the ability to manage multiple opportunities.
- Self motivation and a focus on achieving results.
- Payment processing, merchant services, or POS experience is preferred.
- Experience using CRM systems is an advantage.
