The Opportunity
As a Senior Account Manager, you will take ownership of Synergy's most demanding and strategically significant client relationships. You will act as a trusted technology and commercial advisor to senior stakeholders, including C-suite, ensuring exceptional client retention, revenue growth, and an excellent experience across your portfolio.
Reporting to the Commercial Director, you will operate with a high degree of autonomy, shaping strategic account plans and technology roadmaps in collaboration with Solutions Architects and service delivery teams. This role is ideal for an experienced account management professional who wants to deepen executive-level relationships, influence commercial strategy, and be rewarded for driving client success and business growth.
What You'll Do
- Own and develop long-term relationships with a portfolio of key and complex clients, positioning Synergy as their strategic technology partner.
- Lead contract renewals, renegotiations, and account expansion initiatives, balancing commercial outcomes with long-term relationship value.
- Develop and maintain strategic account plans and technology roadmaps with Solutions Architects, aligning IT strategy to client business objectives.
- Identify, scope, and progress project opportunities that address client needs, maintaining accurate pipeline and forecasting records.
- Act as the primary escalation point and client advocate, partnering with service delivery, finance, and technical teams to ensure a seamless, high-quality client experience.
What Success Looks Like
- Achieving at least 95% annual client retention across your assigned portfolio.
- Delivering consistent year-on-year net revenue growth and at least 7% contract value expansion across your accounts, net of attrition.
- Generating an annual project pull-through rate of at least 30% from existing client relationships.
- Maintaining a client Net Promoter Score (cNPS) of at least 8, supported by regular strategic technology and relationship reviews.
What We're Looking For
- Significant account management experience (typically 7+ years) in IT managed services, professional services, or a comparable client-centric environment.
- Proven track record of retaining key clients while driving account expansion and revenue growth, including ownership of renewals and commercial negotiations.
- Experience managing complex, multi-stakeholder relationships, including regular engagement with senior and C-suite stakeholders.
- Strong high-level understanding of IT services, infrastructure, cybersecurity, and cloud environments, with the ability to translate business objectives into technology strategies.
Compensation and Benefits
- $65,000$70,000 annual salary, based on experience, plus commission on projects that are successfully identified, quoted, and closed.
- Private health insurance (individual cover) following successful completion of your probationary period.
- Workplace pension with employer contributions in accordance with the company pension scheme.
- Standard working hours of 9:00am to 6:00pm, Monday to Friday, plus 22 days' paid holiday per year, in addition to public and bank holidays.
