Job Summary

The Kitchen Manager will be responsible in overseeing all kitchen operations including food preparation and presentation while meeting or exceeding food quality, sales, cost of goods and labour targets. This role will be leading and developing their restaurant team to excell at delivering an exceptional experience to our guests. This position is fast-paced, requires flexibility to adapt to change and work closely with others.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the day-to-day kitchen operations and ensure all standards are met
  • Ensure the efficient operation of food production, constantly analyze the quality of production and preparation in accordance to company specifications
  • Manage all cost controls, supplier relationships and service KPIs
  • Train, mentor and develop the skills of all kitchen staff
  • Assure on-going training and development of the team
  • Have a positive mindset and be able to contribute to a safe and fun team environment that fosters growth and service excellence
  • Ability to lead by example
  • Checks portioning, garnishing, temperature, taste and appearance of food to ensure quality and proper specifications
  • Understand and abide by all Health & Safety standards

The ideal candidate has:

  • Culinary degree/diploma; considered an asset
  • Minimum of 2 years Sr. Line Cook or Kitchen Management experience
  • Food Handler’s Certificate
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Organizational, administrative and leadership skills
  • Must be an effective supervisor, trainer, problem solver and team player
  • Detail-oriented
  • Availability to work on site with a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to stand and move in the kitchen for long periods of time, including safely lifting up to 50 pounds, walking, and bending

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $50,000.00-$60,000.00 per year

  • Toronto, ON M5J 2H7: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)

Experience:

  • Culinary: 2 years (required)
