About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced Data Engineer / DevOps Engineer Lead to design, build, and manage scalable data platforms and cloud infrastructure. This role combines strong data engineering, DevOps, cloud, automation, and technical leadership responsibilities.
The ideal candidate will have 7+ years of experience and be comfortable leading technical initiatives, mentoring engineering teams, and supporting enterprise-scale production environments.
Key Responsibilities
Data Engineering
- Design and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines for structured and unstructured data.
- Develop and optimize data models, data warehouses, and lakehouse architectures.
- Integrate data from APIs, databases, cloud storage, and third-party platforms.
- Ensure data quality, security, governance, and compliance.
- Support both real-time and batch data processing.
- Optimize data pipelines for performance, scalability, and reliability.
DevOps & Automation
- Lead DevOps initiatives across data platforms and enterprise applications.
- Design and manage CI/CD pipelines for automated deployment and testing.
- Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Manage Docker and Kubernetes environments.
- Automate infrastructure provisioning and operational processes.
- Establish monitoring, logging, alerting, and incident management practices.
- Ensure high availability, disaster recovery, and system resiliency.
Cloud & Platform Engineering
- Design, administer, and optimize AWS, Azure, or GCP environments.
- Manage cloud-native data, storage, compute, and analytics services.
- Implement cloud security, access controls, and compliance best practices.
- Collaborate with architects and engineering teams to develop scalable platform solutions.
Leadership & Collaboration
- Lead and mentor Data Engineering and DevOps team members.
- Partner with stakeholders to understand technical and business requirements.
- Lead technical discussions, architecture reviews, and deployment planning.
- Promote Agile and DevOps best practices.
- Provide technical guidance and production support for critical environments.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- 7+ years of experience in Data Engineering, DevOps, Cloud Engineering, or related roles.
- Strong programming skills in SQL, Python, Scala, or Java.
- Hands-on experience with ETL/ELT, Spark, Hadoop, or Kafka.
- Strong experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, or Azure DevOps.
- Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Strong knowledge of Terraform, CloudFormation, or other IaC tools.
- Strong Linux, scripting, and automation skills.
- Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, or Splunk.
- Strong communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Snowflake, Databricks, Redshift, BigQuery, or Synapse.
- AWS, Azure, Kubernetes, or DevOps certifications.
- Knowledge of data governance, security, and compliance frameworks.
- Experience leading distributed engineering teams and enterprise-scale deployments.
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.

Pay: $8,000.00 - $10,000.00 per month
