**Here's a summary of responsibilities:**
The U.S. Olympic \& Paralympic Committee (USOPC) is seeking a visionary Director, Content Strategy \& Development to lead the strategic development, planning, optimization, and performance of all Team USA content across the fan ecosystem. The Director will be responsible for defining what stories Team USA tells, where they are distributed, how they are optimized, and how they contribute to fan growth and business objectives.
Reporting to the Senior Director, Content \& Product, this role leads the content development function, translating the broader content vision into actionable plans, content roadmaps, and development priorities. The Director will oversee content strategy, content intelligence and performance, and editorial planning efforts while partnering closely with the Content Production, Lifecycle, Insights, Marketing, and Commercial teams to maximize the impact of Team USA storytelling across all owned and operated channels and platforms.

*Content Strategy \& Vision*
* Lead the development and execution of Team USA's holistic content strategy across all audience\-facing platforms, including social media platforms, TeamUSA.com, mobile applications, Team USA TV, and future digital experiences. * Develop a long\-term content vision that aligns with organizational priorities, fan growth objectives, and commercial goals. * Establish annual content themes, franchise opportunities, editorial priorities, and storytelling frameworks to guide content planning efforts. * Create a comprehensive content roadmap across Olympics, Paralympics, athlete storytelling, tentpole events, and cultural moments. * Identify emerging trends and audience opportunities that can strength the impact and relevance of Team USA content. Ensure all content investments align to measurable audience and business outcomes.
*Storyline Development \& Editorial Leadership*
* Lead the development of Team USA's storytelling strategy and editorial vision. * Identify athlete, sport, and cultural narratives that have the greatest potential to drive fandom and audience growth. * Establish and lead a storyline development process that creates continuity across platforms and throughout the Olympic and Paralympic cycle. * Collaborate on the creation of recurring content franchises, serialized storytelling opportunities, and documentary concepts. * Partner with Production team to ensure stories are developed with platform\-specific audience needs and distribution goals in mind.
*Content Intelligence \& Performance*
* Establish Team USA's content intelligence framework to continuously evaluate effectiveness and optimize investment across the owned ecosystem. Oversee the development of predictive planning models that identify emerging opportunities and audience interests. * Partner with the Insights \& Analytics team to enhance and leverage audience research, content analytics, trend analysis, social listening, and competitive benchmarking efforts to inform content decisions. * Adapt reporting frameworks into always\-on tools for the Content and Products team to utilize in real time to understand content performance across platforms.
*Owned \& Operated Channel Strategy*
* Establish channel\-specific objectives, audience strategies, content frameworks, and performance benchmarks that support fan growth, engagement, retention, and monetization goals. * Partner with the Lifecycle team to develop content programming, publishing, and integrated distribution plans across all owned channels, ensuring the right content reaches the right audience at the right time. Ensure consistency in messaging, brand expression, and fan experience. * Define channel roles within the broader content ecosystem to inform content journeys that drive audience movement across platforms and deepen engagement throughout the fan lifecycle. * Provide strategic expertise in the development of Team USA TV and FAST channel programming, including content prioritization, scheduling strategies, audience development initiatives, and viewership growth opportunities.
*External Distribution Strategy*
* Lead the content strategy for third\-party distribution platforms, including streaming services, broadcast partners, OTT platforms, digital publishers, and emerging media partners, to elevate Team USA’s presence beyond owned channels. * Identify opportunities to extend Team USA storytelling through longform, episodic, documentary, and premium content formats. * Partner with internal and external stakeholders to shape content concepts, franchises, and storytelling approaches that are optimized for third\-party distribution.
*Team Leadership \& Budget Management*
* Lead, develop, and mentor content strategy, intelligence, and development team members to maximize collective performance. * Oversee budget planning across content strategy, agency resources, audience research, and content development initiatives. Develop investment recommendations and business cases for major content opportunities. * Manage agency, platform, and production partner relationships. * Build a high\-performing team focused on innovation, audience growth, and performance excellence. Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement. * Perform other duties as assigned.
**Here are the skills and experience you'll need to be effective:**
* Bachelor’s degree in Media, Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field * 10\+ years of experience in content strategy, media, audience development, entertainment, sports, or digital publishing * 5\+ years of leadership experience * Demonstrated success leading multi\-platform content organizations * Strong expertise in social, digital publishing, streaming, FAST, and longform content ecosystems * Experience developing original content franchises and serialized storytelling * Proven track record using audience analytics and performance insights to inform content decisions * Experience managing substantial content budgets and external partners * Strong understanding of sports, media, and entertainment industries * Strong knowledge of content performance analytics and audience insights * Strong communication, storytelling, and presentation skills * Detail\-oriented and highly organized * Creative, energetic self\-starter with great interpersonal skills * Ability to work well under the pressure of meeting tight deadlines * Understanding of processes required to execute strategy to tactical level * Demonstrated ability to manage budgets * Proven ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks and projects * Ability to thrive in a fast\-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously * Ability to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders * Passion for sports and the Olympic \& Paralympic Movement

**Here's some more information you need to know:**
* Hiring pay range $135,000 \- $140,000 per year. * This Full\-Time, Exempt position is intended to work 40 hours per week. * Bonus: This position will be eligible for the Annual Incentive Award Program, which has a 20% target.
