Job description
We welcome candidates specializing in Manual or Automation, or Performance Testing.
Job Purpose
Ensure end-to-end quality for complex technology initiatives through hands-on manual, automation, and performance testing. Work closely with Business, Product, Engineering, and other teams to clarify requirements, identify risks, and improve product quality throughout the delivery lifecycle.
Key Accountabilities
1. Quality Engineering Delivery
- Analyze business and technical requirements to define test scope, test scenarios, test data, dependencies, and quality risks.
- Design and execute testing across web, mobile, API, database, integration, and end-to-end business flows.
- Perform hands-on manual, automation, or performance testing based on project needs and individual expertise.
- Develop and maintain automation or performance test scripts, reusable components, test data, and reports.
- Analyze test results, logs, system metrics, defects, and performance bottlenecks; work with relevant teams
- to resolve issues and verify fixes.
- Provide clear quality assessments, release risks, and recommendations based on test evidence.
2. Requirements Analysis & Collaboration
- Work with Product Owners, Business Analysts, Developers, DevOps, business users, and vendors to clarify requirements, acceptance criteria, APIs, integrations, and non-functional requirements.
- Review requirements and solution designs to identify missing scenarios, unclear points, testability issues, and quality risks.
- Translate requirements into practical manual, automation, API, data, integration, or performance test scenarios.
- Support UAT/PAT, go-live, and post-release activities, including test-data preparation, defect investigation, retesting, and production verification.
- Communicate defects, risks, limitations, and system impacts clearly to technical and business stakeholders.
3. Quality Improvement & Team Support
- Contribute directly to testing while providing technical guidance to other Quality Engineers.
- Review test cases, automation or performance scripts, defects, results, and reports to improve quality and maintainability.
- Improve test coverage, regression efficiency, test-data management, performance testing, reporting, and defect prevention.
- Support automated test execution in CI/CD pipelines and investigate failed test runs.
- Participate in defect triage, root-cause analysis, quality-risk discussions, and release-readiness reviews.
- Coach team members through practical guidance, reviews, problem-solving, and knowledge sharing.
Your skills and experience
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Telecommunications, Finance, Banking, or a related field.
- English proficiency in line with Techcombank requirements.
- At least 8 years of experience in software testing, quality assurance, or quality engineering.
- Strong hands-on experience in at least one area: manual testing, test automation, or performance testing.
- Practical experience in other areas such as API, database, web, mobile, integration, end-to-end, data, security, or production testing.
- Experience in requirement analysis, test design, test execution, test-data preparation, defect management, and quality reporting.
- Experience reviewing test deliverables, providing technical guidance, coaching team members, or coordinating testing activities.
- Good knowledge of software development and testing processes, Agile delivery, risk-based testing, and defect management.
- Proficiency in SQL and test-data validation.
- Ability to read, review, or develop automation or performance testing scripts based on the candidate’s area of expertise.
Relevant tools may include
- API testing: Postman, Insomnia, SoapUI, REST Assured, or Karate.
- UI automation: Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, Appium, Katalon, or Robot Framework.
- Performance testing: JMeter, k6, Gatling, or LoadRunner.
- Programming: Java, Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, C#, or equivalent.
- Monitoring: Grafana, Kibana, Prometheus, ELK, or equivalent.
- CI/CD: Git, Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or equivalent.
