About the Role
Techmates Technology Pty Ltd is seeking a qualified and experienced Software Engineer to join our team in Brooklyn Park, South Australia.
The successful applicant will be responsible for analysing software requirements and designing, developing, testing, implementing, maintaining and supporting software applications and systems. The role will involve working across the software development lifecycle to deliver reliable, maintainable and high-quality software solutions.
Key Responsibilities
The Software Engineer will be responsible for:
1. Analyse functional and non-functional software requirements and prepare technical and design specifications for the development and maintenance of software solutions.
2. Review application architecture and technical requirements to ensure software development activities align with system and architectural specifications.
3. Design, develop, modify and maintain software applications and systems to meet business and technical requirements.
4. Write, review and maintain program code using appropriate programming languages, frameworks and software development tools.
5. Develop and maintain software components and application functionality in accordance with approved technical and design specifications.
6. Prepare and execute unit tests and participate in functional, integration and system testing to identify and resolve software defects and ensure software quality.
7. Perform impact analysis, identify software issues and required modifications, and enhance existing applications to improve functionality and reliability.
8. Prepare and maintain software design specifications, technical documentation, test documentation and other software development artefacts.
9. Participate throughout the software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, design, development, testing, validation, implementation, maintenance and ongoing application support.
10. Diagnose and analyse application issues, develop and implement appropriate solutions or workarounds, and liaise with relevant stakeholders to resolve technical issues within required timeframes.
11. Collaborate with architecture and design teams, Business Analysts, peers and other stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver appropriate software solutions.
Qualifications and Experience
To be considered for this position, applicants should have:
· A Bachelor's degree or higher qualification in Software Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science or a closely related discipline.
· A minimum of 2 years of relevant professional experience in software engineering or software development.
· Demonstrated experience in software application design, development, testing and maintenance.
· Strong programming skills and experience with databases, application integration and software development tools.
· Good understanding of the software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, design, coding, testing, implementation and maintenance.
· Experience in debugging, troubleshooting and resolving software defects and application issues.
· Ability to prepare and maintain software design and technical documentation.
· Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
· Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a development team.
The salary offered within the advertised range will depend on the successful applicant's qualifications, relevant professional experience and demonstrated technical capabilities.
