Overview

LH3M is developing parallel laboratory projects in lunar gas collection and Rydberg helium isotope separation. We seek a technically experienced project manager to coordinate the hardware research team, suppliers and procurement. The role is initially fractional, with workload and availability agreed before engagement.

Work with the scientific and technical director and CEO to turn technical priorities into an achievable execution plan. Maintain visibility of dependencies, purchasing and expenditure while allowing engineers to concentrate on apparatus development and experiments.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain the integrated project schedule, milestones, responsibilities and near-term priorities with the technical team.
  • Coordinate quotations, purchasing follow-up, supplier deliveries, installation needs and external services with procurement support.
  • Track expenditure, commitments and forecast costs; identify the schedule and budget consequences of scope changes.
  • Organize concise progress and design reviews, record decisions, and follow through on actions and unresolved dependencies.
  • Prepare clear management updates and escalate resource or delivery problems with practical options for resolution.

Required experience

  • Experience coordinating hardware development, scientific instrumentation or experimental R&D projects involving physical equipment and suppliers.
  • Ability to understand engineering dependencies and distinguish a research objective from a committed deliverable.
  • Practical scheduling, procurement coordination, budget tracking and risk-management skills appropriate to a small team.
  • Clear written communication and dependable availability for supplier and laboratory coordination.

Preferred experience

Engineering or physical-science education, prior hands-on technical work, laboratory startup experience and familiarity with vacuum or cryogenic equipment. Formal project-management certification is optional.

What success looks like

An up-to-date, realistic execution plan; timely procurement follow-up; transparent commitments and costs; and prompt decisions when experiments or deliveries change the plan. Scientific priorities and technical acceptance remain with the scientific and technical director.

Provide a résumé, your proposed availability and an example of coordinating a hardware research project through uncertainty or a critical supplier delay.

Pay: $100,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
