Role: Operations Manager

Location: Remote, with occasional travel for 1:1s and team meetings

Salary: £35,000 - £38,000 (depending on experience) per annum pro rata

Working Days: 3 days per week, 23.25 hours per week

We are looking for an experienced and people-focused Operations Manager to lead and develop a high-performing team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced leader who enjoys bringing people together, using data to drive performance and creating an environment where colleagues can thrive.

You will play a key role in ensuring your team delivers an outstanding experience for every learner, while supporting operational performance, commercial growth and continuous development for your team.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Leading, motivating and developing a high-performing team
  • Complete regular 1:1 review meetings, annual appraisals, and provide continuous support, coaching and mentoring to drive continued success and achievement of key performance metrics
  • Exceed targets against budgets and predicted QAR through motivating colleagues to succeed, maintaining funded learner occupancy and using data to inform decision making
  • Provide regular and accurate data insights and updates including, learner occupancy, past planned end learners, and forecasting of upcoming starts
  • Ensure all quality processes are adhered to, with regular collaboration with Quality colleagues to ensure the compliant, and timely achievement of learners
  • Plan, co-ordinate, and review the learning activities associated with learners in the workplace, monitoring in monthly handovers with assessors
  • Provide forward-thinking and innovative solutions to nurture client relationships, drive positive employer satisfaction and ensure engagement encompasses the entire learner journey and supports achievement of qualifications and further growth
  • Facilitate and lead regular communication meetings both remotely and in person, to share best practice and provide business updates
  • Collaborate with Knovia Shared Services People Team to discuss any challenges, concerns, training or recruitment needs to continue to deliver an award-winning service
  • Regular review own CPD and maintain or update knowledge of the subject/professional area and co-operate in any development activities required to effectively carry out the duties of the post and to participate in review and development schemes
  • Drive own continued success, personal development and improvement, by planning and attending regular monthly 1-2-1's with your manager and completing annual personal development plans and participating in regular training and CPD activities
  • Proactively promote and comply with safeguarding procedures, including the welfare of children and vulnerable adults you may come into contact with and commitment to the child protection policy

  • Experience driving commercial partnerships and supporting business growth
  • Ability to manage deadlines, objectives, and operational targets effectively
  • Datadriven decision maker with strong analytical capability
  • Identify performance concerns and development needs of colleagues and support as required to improve performance and achieve desired results
  • Excellent people management, coaching, and leadership skills
  • Self-motivated with strong attention to detail and ability to prioritise and plan work effectively to meet deadlines and work to a high standard
  • Commercially aware with strong business development skills
  • Knowledge of apprenticeship sector, funding bodies, awarding organisations and Ofsted
  • Confident and able to develop and grow positive relationships with employers, funding & awarding bodies, and consultants and nurture professional networks for business growth
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication abilities
  • Willingness to travel for meetings and inperson 1:1s
